How about all the factors that go into making sure a chid turns out well-nice atmosphere, good kids, supportive parents. Schools like Niagara Catholic, O'Hara, St. Mary's of Lanc., Timon send many good kids out into the world, even though their parents might not be able to spend $10-13,000/year on Nardin, Nichols, St. Joe's. I see more spoiled brats that are jerks to others from these more famous schools. I also hear from friends that drinking, drugs and beautiful cars are prevelant (maybe because mommy and daddy are working and throw money at and to their kids. How about paying attention to your kids, rather than spoiing them-Nardin parents?

There are jerks at every high school in America, in case you haven't noticed.

And money, although certainly useful, does not guarantee a good education or a successful student body.

Perhaps the education, discipline, and empowerment at Nardin are actually working? You can't fault Nardin for being included in the listing, for God's sake. It was included, and it deserves the top ranking. Regardless of whether you think the girls are spoiled snots, they are taught something that public schools do not focus on: that women are capable of doing whatever they dream, and that they are worthy members of society. You might think that's b.s., but it's absolutely true. The academics are rigorous, and those girls work hard for their success.

And, yes, drinking and drugs comes with money and wealthy private schools. But you know what? High school drug users very often turn out to be highly successful business owners and parents. God help us if we were all based on our high school behavior.

I was far from being a spoiled brat in high school, but it is so ludicrous to assume that because a parent decides to send their daughter to Nardin for $10K a year means they are crappy, over-indulgent parents. MAYBE they think the education is of value.

I went to O'hara and transferred to Nardin. They actually cost about the same. It is great that an all girls school receives this honor and it isn't even close to the most expensive. Take a look at Nichols and Buf Sem for the highest tuition.
