What a crock. Of course Nardin, City Honors, St. Joes, Williamsville, Clarence, and most of all the others are on the top of the list. They've got the money, and the family support to have their kids rank high in all the categories. Or else they only choose the best students (City Honors), or are so expensive that only the elite are let in.(St. Joes, Canisius). The REALLY good schools are the ones that get a lot out of their students even though they don't have much resources. This whole Business First baloney is just a way of selling magazines and allowing the "haves" to pat themselves on the back.

I have to agree. I live in Chautauqua County and the same thing applies. My nephew will go to the school highest ranked in our county where all the rich older people live for mainly the summer (snowbirds). And my kids go to one of the schools lowest on the list. What gets me is the school I couldn't wait to get out of oh so many years ago, is a third of the way down the list, well above where my children go. I'm a lot more concerned now than I use to be.

Catholic schools shouldn't be included. ORGANIZED CHILD MOLESTING is still UNETHICAL!

I completely agree with you, Mike. They should consider the socioeconomic status of the district BEFORE making the lists. I am a teacher in a city school district and in order to get results we can be proud of we need to work much much harder than teachers in other districts, but no one is patting us on our backs, instead they are throwing it in our faces by putting us lower on "the list". We do not have the support of our families at home. The students we teach do not have books to go home to, instead many have to go home to younger brothers and sisters they need to watch while their parents go to work to support their families, or the kids go out and join gangs in order to feel as if they are a part of some sort of family. "The List" is really pretty petty once you start to think of the real problems many districts face...

If you don't know anything about catholic schools keep your mouth shut. It's about time catholic schools were included since everyone says those kids are so far behind public shools. At least those kids get some morals at school.

This is an excellent subject and should help to reinforce how important it is for parents to really look at what their child is doing in school and how they are progressing. Education is important and is something no one can ever take away in any person's lifetime. Parents, don't let your child be a life long burger flipper, take note of the information given and then look at your child and their accomplishments in their studies....show some interest....
