ItsMe- tell your husband to quit whining about his job. Does he remember why he was sent down there? Because one of his colleagues was shot and almost killed! Do either one of you get that? It's hard to believe that he is an "E" Trooper. Amazing! All of the people we've talked to know why they are there and who they are there for. One Trooper Brown and two to find an escape who tried to kill someone. Shame on you for making that statement and shame on your husband also. If he didn't want to deal with the higher ups, then he shouldn't have jointed the State Police.

BY THE WAY WIFE, you want a good cause to fight for, how about you join the fight to get the troop cars fixed so that when they are hit from behind they dont burst into flames???? There are so many other causes you could be fighting for, you have to pick the one that is most publicized?? Are you that desperate for attention?

I worked with JPD when Officer Dave Mitchell was shot. Nothing pretty about it when a man goes down. And to make jokes and Bucky Burgers, t-shirts and hats is a pathetic statement. Let's see how flippin' funny it is when it's one of your own family and these Officers are family to each other. Call Bucky then, instead of the police. You bunch of worthless, tasteless wastes of skin.

Ok Babs, 1st and foremost welcome to the topix forums. You are right there is nothing funny about a person being shot. You are (as the rest of us) entitled to you own opinions, and the people here are your peers, your fellow citizens. They are using what is called black humor to get through what is a hard time for them as well. The NYS troopers have not been exactly the most sociable people toward these residents and they are justifiably angry. Please read the rest of the forums and the media accounts of what has transpired in Chautauqua County over the past several months and maybe you will understand the mindset here. As for the Bucky Burger, well that is a marketing technique and has nothing to do with support of Bucky Phillips. So are the TShirts. It is called corporate enterprise and that is what makes America land of the free.

We are a land of laws. If the law enforcement officers are so priceless because they "serve it" they more than anyone know the difference of reacting emotionally and irresponsable.

The only thing the seperates Leo's and Phillips is supposed to be the law. Leo's are suppoed to be on the side of law, not human emotional response. Isn't the unrestrained human response the reason why Leo's are serving a community.

The law is not fair, the law is law however. If the law is so valued, the officers sworn to uphold it and enforce it would be the first to see the greater good by following the law.

When people have nothing to hide, they hide nothing.
When people are treated like less than deserving of respect, they get defensive (as do Leo's). I hold the professinals to a higher standard. I've known respectful and professinal Leo's, I'll not lower the standard. Period.

Are you hiding from me?? TOBABS,you just don't like to hear the truth. You jump on your little bandwagon regardless of how stupid you make yourself look. I am from Jamestown, why the hell else would I still be looking at Jamestown news? My family is still there. The officers I worked with are still there and your mentality is nothing short of a pack of wild dogs. I hope you are proud of yourselves. I am not saying who is right or who is wrong and I personally know Bucky and have drank with him but it has gone beyond funny or cute and is completely tasteless.

Cat, I'm all about dark humor, you can bet that. I'm all about freedom of expression but that still doesn't make it right, now does it?? My point is not for either side. My point is what is right in any given situation and corporate enterprise or not. I just have a bad taste in my mouth over the whole thing.

Well, these people in north county are being harrassed beyond the point of ridiculous. I think it is BS how Tracie and Eric Gloss have been treated, in fact I will dare say it is an outrage! I dont like the way Bucky's sister is being treated either. I dont like the fact that the grandchild of a resident on Hall Rd in Cassadaga had potshots taken at him by some zealots in commo garb playing Iraqi soldiers. I dont live there any more either, but I dont have to like the treatment of these decent people. These forums are a great place to vent thier anger and make dark jokes about the situation. I still am for corporate enterprise, COOL for those people making money off this crap. As you well now Chautauqua County is the poorest county per capita in NYS. If they choose to make the almighty dollar then let them have at it. You dont have to like it. That is thier life. Let them live it.

Cat, just to give you the low down. That area and especially Warren, Pa. is full of corrupt cops who will lie, cheat and steal. They protect their own, I know this. How do I know this because I just got out of prison where I've been for the last 3 1/2 years because they protect their own at all costs. What is going on their is not right, let me make that clear but people need to go to the news and make bonifide complaints that don't fuel the Troopers and such. It angers me, it really does because I know what they are capable of doing. Some heads are gonna roll when I'm done but I still will try to do the right thing. Two wrongs don't make a right, right??
