I took my dog to Happy Tails for boarding recently - not grooming, I thought they had taken good care of her in the past and I would give them one more shot. Well, I shouldn't have. She was fine and as far as I know taken care of but they are some of the most arrogant people I have ever done business with. I will never step foot on their property again and will voice my opinion of them loud and clear from now on. My gut said not to take her back...I should have listened. I will now. With that all said, I am looking for a GOOD boarding facility that will treat both my dog and me with respect. Any suggestions.
You took your dog there AFTER knowing everything that they have been responsible for???

I am terribly sorry for you loss, I am the one that contacted WATE about giving you another Lhasa Apso, your Bogey looked like my Bailey we about lost him when he got hit,the same weekend you lost your Bogey, we really couldn't afford the surgery but the only alternative was to put him to sleep an otherwise healthy 1 1/2 yr old dog. I couldn't possibly consider that options and thank God some of our family loves him almost as much as we do. He is doing very well. I just want you to know that the offers still stands and later you decide you want another baby, I will probably have the second litter in about a year and I would be honored to give you one of mine. Sincerely, Christy

Happy Tails has groomed and boarded my dogs since they opened their doors. I have had 2 dogs die at vet hospitals here in Knoxille...one got out of fence and got hit by a car...they actually still charged me for the boarding!! and one was given the wrong vaccines and it died. I have never had anything but wonderful experiences with Happy Tails. The couple that owns the place are Christians and work very hard to ensure the safety and happiness of the animals in their care. My children got bitten in day care but it didn't make the news. My sons ear got cut half the time when he got haircuts as a little boy. Why would it make this business "evil" if it happened while getting a groom? If a dog gets cut at a groomer it's the top story. If you don't know the people, please know that their is always more to a story.
Yea, sounds like there is MUCH more to the story, more and more storys of animal deglect, I wouldnt take my clothes to these people to wash, much less my dog..
The lady that lost her beloved pet to this, My heart goes out to you, I hope that one day soon you heal enough from this to get another baby doggie, You obviously loved your Boogey very much to want only the best for her, getting her pampered etc..Im so sorry it turned out to be tragic for you but there is a little doggie out there just waiting for the love you have to offer and you also need the love that it will return to you..I lost my beloved dog 2 1/2 yrs ago, I have since got another one, Of course it sure doesnt take her place but it had helped me heal somewhat from the loss of "Baby" and I want that for you to, Your dog Boogey would want that also..Thank you for sharing your story and keeping the public aware of what happened to you, Boogeys story will save lots of animals because I, for one, will NEVER take my dog there and will also alert every one I know.

I used to have my dog groomed there and I saw him fall off the grooming table on two separate occasions.

I used Happy Tails for grooming and boarding for a couple of years before I moved to Atlanta and my dogs loved it there. I did, however, start taking my kids elsewhere for boarding and groomin (All Creatures) because the staff at Happy Tails did not keep regular hours, answer the phone, and were not there a couple of times for Sunday night pickup as the hours posted. Overall, it seemed that they are understaffed and overbooked. I later heard some bad rumours but had no idea until tonight which really scared me into do more investigating where my dogs stay in the future.

I boarded my dog there once and was surprised that unlike every other kennel, they would not let me see the cages first. I also had my girl clipped there once. Her toenails were bleeding when she was done and she has been deathly afraid of having her toenails clipped since. They also charged me twice when I went back a few days later to have her clipped shorter. I figured it couldn't cost that much to go back a few days later, but it did. I now go to another groomer that let's you watch and who really loves my dogs.

This makes me so sad. I have been taking my dogs to Happy Tails for a few years and LOVED them. I had tried several other places and they seemed to do the best job. However, now I am scared to take my dogs there again. Even though I had no problems in the past, I cannot take that risk. Can anyone else recommend a good groomer? I have tried PetSmart and PetSafe. Both are fine for my lab, but they just did not do as good a job as Happy Tails did on my golden.

To Grieving Pet Owners, I am very sorry for your loss. I went to middle and high school with Erik Webb and have known him for over 20 years. Just knowing what kind of person he is I knew better and told my mother to never take her dogs to him. I am not surprised at any of this.

YES..premier paws on S. northshore..the ONLY place i will take my dogs... you can always see what is going on..they know you and your dogs by name..and every time i go they ask if its okay that they have treats..when i pick them up they are eating duck, omaha steak, chicken breast.. all are from their store...and more importantly my dogs start to dance in the car when we get near..they know who jessi is..' the groomer' really you need to try them..they go the extra mile :)

Concord Groomers does a great job. Susan Porterfield and her staff really love the dogs and they have taken great care of my Bichons.

this just absolutly breaks my heart to hear about all these trajedies, when my own dogs use to go here. just to know that it couldve been my dogs who got killed. thankfully it was not & we stopped bringing our dogs there before the deathes. it just blows me away to know that my dogs use to scratch on their door to get in like it was home. god bless the owners of those pets.
