These "educators" we have.. for the most part...aren't doing so well.. For all of the money we spend on schooooooooooooooooool taxes, in my estimation, over all, they do not compare to those from long ago in those schoolhouses.
Teachers really WERE teachers--mentors--an extension of the family-who were loyal to a RIGID CODE OF ETHICS, also instilling strong character traits in the children.
Families complimented teachers' efforts AT HOME, but we see much that going either these days.
Schools need to get back to the basics and cut out the very pricey extracurriculars (what has an expensive stadium and throwing a football got to do with reading/math proficiency). Sporting dudes should not be "the most popular," and teachers should not be giving them any favored treatment.
Teachers also make too much money, get better benefits than they deserve (they deserve what the rest of us get), and take way too many days off. Their union....works against the public and has nothing to do with teacher ethics.
Oh yeah, we pay too much in school taxes and we are not getting our money's worth. By the way, those test scores are not an accurate gauge of success of any teacher or school.
