Evan Ibbotson's brother died an honorable death in battle. Evan died a drunken fool, and because of his assenine insistence that the truck was his and he would be the driver, he refused to give the keys to Ben Jostes and wound up killing himself and my friend Jessica.

No, this country would not be better if alcohol and marijuana were legalized. They are mind-altering drugs and there is no such thing as drinking or acting responsibly when your mind is warped. Despite what Wayne County Press editor Tom Matthews says about Officer Kinter in his editorials, and how much I loathe the Illinois State Police for not breathalizing a repeat offender involved in my wife's death, I applaud Officer Kinter in his efforts to crush underage drinking. That is what he should be doing instead of ticketing seat belt violators.

It's a shame that 18 year olds even have to go to war. They shouldn't drink, and they shouldn't go to war. And you know what? I also propose they shouldn't be allowed to own a car. A lot less mischief would happen if they had to ask for the keys instead of being able to come and go as they please. There'd be a lot less partying, underaged drinking, drug abuse, and teenage pregnancies. Yup, take their keys away. My dad had it right, and now that I'm older I see his wisdom.

I am very proud to serve my country, enlisted when i was 17 years old. All of your thoughts are straight up ridiculous, not everyone wants to live a sheltered life. It's not like keeping things illegal is going to stop kids from doing these things. People make choices in life, and sometimes you deal with the consequences. Kids will be kids. Once you serve your country you may have some right in what goes on politically, thats the way i believe. Every politician should have prior military service.
