Matt Finnegan was terminated? Isn't this the same clown who is trying to run for DA. What was he terminated for, probably bullying someone, as is his way. Lets look into this UDJ, this moron already set up a website announcing his canidacey and I believe he met with some law enforcement agencies seeking their support. Reason he was canned would be nice for the voters to know

Reason he was "canned" was because she viewed him as a political threat and a natural leader. She turned on him when he refused to support her bake sale because there was too much actual work to be at that office. That's right, the DA was busy running a bake sale while her deputies were dealing with homicides, dope rips and the like. He's got the support of tons of law enforcement who are simply disgusted with Lintott's stupidity and willingness to make sweet deals with defense attorneys.

But he has no chance of getting elected. If he leans any further to the far right he will fall over. He will have very little support outside of the Ukiah area and probably not even a majority there. No way he can win countywide.

Hey, He seems like a good candidate to me. It has always been the same situation at the DA's Office. If you are going to run against the currant DA, they fire you. Talk about being unprofessional. Disgusting. I for one would like stronger representation in the DA's Office. Lintot seems weak.

Looks like Lintott is not the only one feeling threatened by Finnegan!

I can't believe the County is hiring more bodies. This is the time to cut, not ADD permanent payroll. "We have the budget" is not a good reason in this economic climate, especially when tax revenues will continue to fall. Typical government mentality - spend everything as fast as you can.

These are not new positions. THey are filled positions where the previous employee quit or retired but the same amount of work still needs to be done. Several of these are not General Fund positions but are paid for 90% by the state or feds or are 100% grant funded.

The majority of "County Employees" do about 15% of what private industry employees accomplish on a daily basis.....Why don't you quit whining and take on some extra work and save the tax payer's some money$$$$$.

Thats odd, I thought he had Civil Service protection. I doubt if the words natural leader and political threat appear anywhere on his termination papers. "Truth be told" you seem to have all the info, why don't you give us the real reason Psycho Finny got the boot?

He was fired for taking bribes from dope growers and sounds like a great candidate. Say one thing and do the exact opposite!

But his political career is pretty much over in this county.

He could try Utah but most the politicians there are actually successful community members.

Lay off some of the Sheriff's. The Sheriff departments $12,000,000 budget could help our schools, our elderly and social the service benefits could be applied to our citizens instead of Allmans war on pot!
Just say NO to $12,000,000 Sheriff Budget!

This hiring makes no sense, county workers are taking MTO or VTO because the County says the cannot meet the budget as it stands, they claimed they needed to cut back; so budget numbers are not accurate because they represent a built in MTO/VTO factor; so CEO has graphs and represents these to be lost positions already budgeted; this seems to indicate exactly what the basis for MTO was told to the employees. To save firing or layoffs you give MTO...now they add jobs, even including a term to accept MTO it is bad business. ADding folk increase burdens on health insurance and retirement....if there are "budget" numbers to support hiring there are "budget" numbers to support removing MTO. The existing work force then can complete the work So the money they save will not be returned to the majority of workers even at a departmental level. Misrepresenting numbers is not a basis for hiring....what kind of pumpkin head would buy the graphs and charts when common sense says that if you cannot afford to pay existing payroll, which is "budgeted" then how can you justify hiring for positions which may be budgeted but are they "funded". If they are funded then give the remaining employees full paychecks.

"Truth be told" is actually right on. The civil service hearing should be interesting.

There is no civil service protection with D.A's. I believe they are "At Will" employees. Fired it is.

County code lists the DA and Assistant DA as exempt from civil service, but says nothing about other attorney positions in that office. Because civil service applies everyone except those specifically exempted, he is a civil service employee.

That is why i said "I believe". No big deal, I stand corrected if in fact you did the homework. Just throwing it out for discussion. The Civil Service commission is a joke though. I have had the opportunity to see them in action several times.
