These growers just cannot contain themselves. They, along with the No on "B" people, have to always push the limit on everything. This will be your demise.

Don't be too sure they pushed it- could be a setup. This guy is a cancer patient in remission. He spoke out at Board of Supervisors last year. |

I stick with my original statement.

And this is the guy who told the BOS that he didn't have enough "medicine' so he would have to buy some for him and his suffering wife; and he did not even own a gun; and the most plants he had were only 39......'Bout time! Thank you Mendocino County Sheriff's Department and everyone else that makes one less...... RCRWatch

I actually knew these people. They made extremely terrible choices, granted, but they were not bad people, and I am extremely saddened for their family. Their children are wonderful, and it's depressing how their family is torn apart by this. My support goes to their children in hopes that they are able to stay together and not be bartered off into our particularly terrible fostering system. I think you're extremely insensitive and biased. |

no on b does not condone this type of alleged criminal behavior. everyone needs to be responsible. Unfortunately, some people are just crappy parents and crappy people. |

We can all thank the Mendocino County Sheriffs office and the Mendocino County DA's office for inviting these kinds of people here with their open public statement about how we in Mendocino always look the other way when it comes to growing pot.
That public statement had to have been one of the most stupid and destructive things a sheriffs office has ever done. |

Yeah their parents really gave a good cr-ap about them didn't they? You people who stick up for adults who make decisions and are faced with the horrible consequences of their stupidity...I got nothing for either of you. Didn't your parents teach you anything? Because you sure aren't teaching your kids a darn thing about being a decent member of the community. No good will come from raising your children in an illegal, stealing electricity, so mom and dad don't have to work, marijuana grow...ever. The foster system does in fact suck-however they should have cared before they got their kids taken away from them. Stupid people...I do not feel sorry for them. |

While I agree with the point, serial killer might be a bit of a stretch. The most worrisome factor that I detect is that the crime of cultivation for profit is not one of compassion or one that it made in the "heat of passion". It is a calculated series of criminal activity taken over a long period of time with one goal, to make the most money in the shortest period of time regardless of the impact on society as a whole.
So you see, these criminals had plenty of time to reflect on their crimes and every opportunity to look inside and stop their selfish and destructive behavior. They made a conscious decision not to and this unwise decision was made out of greed and not out of some enlightened self awareness and commitment to the greater good. These criminals should take (and be made to do so) responsibility for their actions and quit citing some irresponsible and illegal law (measure) as an excuse. |

Please remember folks, people living in Robinson Creek Canyon saw this problem and made a public statement(with the Board of Supervisors) last year. There are absentee land owners,'in your face' gardens, and criminal activity continuing. Just as Bill Cosby suggests in "Come On People", any self-respecting community would do all it can to clean up this criminal element and public safety risk. Andy Smith is not the only commercial grower in the Canyon. There will have to be future arrests to make it a safe place to live.

Face it, these folks were criminals. June and Ward Cleaver don't have a massive hydroponic operation with automatic assault rifles laying around. They did not care for their children at all: the fire risk alone was enormous, much less the violent crime risk. The truth is that these criminals were taken down by an informant to the IRS. The informant, a neighbor, will collect over $60,000 for the tip, based upon presently known information. You too can eliminate the wound festering in your community and make money at the same time. It is the right thing to do, and forces local police to take action at the risk of elimination of tens of millions of dollars of Federal funding of Mendocino County projects. In conjunction its Investigation and Prosecution effort in Mendocino, the IRS is offering rewards to informants on those marijuana cultivators evading taxes in violation of the Money Laundering Control Act of 1986 and section 6050 of the Internal Revenue Code. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the IRS High Intensity Money Laundering and Related Financial Crime (HIFCA)Task Force at www.irs.gov/compliance/enforcement . How to claim a reward: IRS Publication 733 details the regulations for claiming a reward. You must complete IRS Form 211. Your information can be delivered personally to any IRS office, or you can write to: Head of the Criminal Investigation Division Internal Revenue Service Washington, DC 20224 If a recovery is made as a direct result of information you provided, you may qualify for a reward of 15% of the amount recovered including taxes, fines and penalties, but not interest -- with a maximum payment of $2 million. If your information was valuable, although not specific, in determining liability, you may be rewarded with as much as 10% of the amount recovered, again with a $2 million cap. If your information was the originating cause of the investigation, but had no direct relationship to the determination of tax liability, the reward is 1% of the amount recovered, again with that $2 million limit. Using an assumed name: If you're not claiming a reward for the information, you can use an assumed name. But if you want to claim a reward, you must use your own name. The IRS is legally prohibited from disclosing the identity of an informer to unauthorized persons outside the Agency. |

All of these pro pot growing people are chasing their tale with their arguments. Did anyone hear about the handful of 11 year olds getting caught smoking pot at school last week? These kids were not children og growers, they came from upstanding families. One kid has been in the UDJ several times for standing out in Basketball, Baseball and football. Thanks to the pot heads and growers, this kid is now headed down a slippery slope. You people Piss me off! How is it okay for an 11 year old 5th grader to get high?
Take this weed and shove it! |

wake up
Your statement against black people white people might make people think that your prejudice. I said that I believe that greedy people who make money by using lies to poison kids with illegal drugs are crappy people. You should work on your prejudice. |

the press reported that the bust was 387 plants and about a lb. why such a large discrepancy?
|
|
the discrepancy is between Press Demo and Urinal. Press Demo gave the 387 plant count and 1LB see http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/article/2008050... The Urinal version has vastly greater plant numbers and weight claimed -- does that doubling of plant count seem credible? 387 to 800?? What? |
