Well, you invited all the scumbags into the County by creating the most convenient environment for marijuana cultivation. It started with Measure G, and the open secret that law enforcement was doing nothing about grows under 100 plants. Now your liberal attitude has bit you in the posterier as felons from across the State and even other countries are coming for their part of the modern day gold rush.

I have a great idea! Pass Measure B, then enforce the law! Run the scumbag growers out of the County.

How about we DON'T pass Measure B, and we STILL enforce the law?

Making Mendocino County landowners and residents criminals will not alter the non-resident, non-landowner behavior in the forests a whit.

Will it?

Or are you somehow confused and think that Measure G makes it legal to grow in the forests?

You people are seriously pisssing me off.

Mendocino County was grossly duped by the Compassionate Use Act and then further screwwed by passing Measure G under the guise that our neighbors would just grow a little dope for themselves and live the happy life in Mendo!!!!

That is not what has happened. We are under siege by out of state, out of country, illegal, commercial marijuana growers.

Marijuana is grown for profit in Mendocino County. It does not stay in Mendocino County, it is distributed widely around the world.

Mendocino County residents (the real ones) need to wake up, pay attention and get out and vote YES on Measure B on June 3rd and ensure that the following PRO DOPE candidates DO NOT get even close to elected

DO NOT vote for:
Ukiah "freak boy" Sativa Morrison
Paula "I work for the County & I'm a drug deeler" Deeter
Dolly "I don't do dope" Brown
Estelle "Pot-Palley" Clifton

Unless you want to see Mendocino County just go ahead and flush itself down the sewer.

If we keep this apathy up, we'll have a Board of Supervisor group, along with a Sheriff, who are completely ran by dope money.

We Will have nothing but drug dealers in Mendocino County....and we will wish we never even knew what dope was....

YES on B people and then call the cops and make them do their job!!!!!!!!!!

G did not make legal to grow in the national forests; this has always been illegal. Also, B does nothing to address this problem. If we can't even enforce our current laws, how will adding additional laws help?

Tom Allman has already stated that to enforce B he will have to pull 4 deputies off more serious crimes, such as these illegal forest grows. In all likely hood if B goes through these sort of illegal grows in the National Forest will become even more common, as we will have even less man power and resources to bust them.

What the text of B says, and what the people pushing for it's passage say are two totally different things. Actually read measure B before you decide on June 3; you will see that it is a very poorly thought out measure, that actually does nothing. I get the impression that it is a political smoke-screen, plain and simple.

Oh, I get it, the Washington Monument defense. You remember whenever a threat was made to cut the Federal budget in the 1970's, the Democrats immediately closed the Washington monument as the first "cut," just to create a public uproar.

So what if Medocino needs a few more LEOs? Go get them. If they sarted pushing asset forfeiture for growers land and houses, they can easily turn a profit.

In fact, let me put forth an action plan to clean up Mendocino completely.

1.) Outlaw all marijuana growing.
2.) Confiscate the land and houses involved via asset forfeiture. Use the money to employ more law enforcement assigned specifically to marijuana enforcement.
3.) Plant a stand of male industrial hemp plants every ten miles in the forest to pollinate all the outlaw grows.
4.) Have a County physician with some ethics certify true medical marijuana patients, and distribute marijuana seized in raids to them free of charge. No other medical certifications accepted, thank you.

Problem solved!!!

Um, HELLO! PAss the measure and they get more money. The growing conditions will still be there but the cost of the processed stuff will triple. Go ahead, help the scumbags out.

Have we learned nothing from the unsuccessful "war on drugs"?

"Forest Service law enforcement officers work with county Sheriff's Departments, the California National Guard, and Campaign Against Marijuana Planting teams. Headed by the Department of Justice Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, CAMP teams were created in 1983 for the primary purpose of eradicating illegal marijuana from public lands in California."

I wouldn't expect too much out of the Mendocino County Sheriff's Department.

How do you know that those that drafted the bill or the police do not get a cut of what is made already? Passing this measure could make them even more money as the bud would have more street value.

That kind of stuff happens all of the time out here. The PD, our Reps, Greenharvest ALL get $ off of it. That is why they wait until it is ready to harvest until they make a bust or take the whole patch.

I thought that was quite a statement as well considering they only confiscated 200,000 plants last year-which is nothing. How could they even know who is behind the millions they did not find. OUr green harvest gets that amount in a week (then takes it to Oahu streets).

Do you think they are trying to use the emotionally sensitive immigration thing to fit their agenda?

J. M. Kinder these are some good ideas (especially 1 & 2), except I would make two changes.

1 We can easily distribute male pollen without planting.

2 I question the ethics of any doctor that prescribes the smoking of anything for medicinal purposes. To only those that a doctor says need it, hand out Marinol for free.

Great idea; there's only one problem. Much of what you propose is illegal and unconstitutional. State laws says we can have medical marijuana; San Diego County tried to ban all marijuana cultivation, including medical a few years ago. They subsequently were sued by the UCLA and lost. The California Supreme Court ruled that you CANNOT ban MMJ cultivation; it violates state law. In addition, industrial hemp is also illegal here.

So, in a nutshell you are proposing that we take illegal actions against the people of Mendocino. Rather interesting that your solution for stopping these illegal activities involves illegal actions.

You obviously do not have much respect for the law if you are willing to bend or break them in order to achieve your goals.

It might require a bit of legislation at the State level, but no great shakes. Could you really argue that the County is taking away your "medicine" if they are GIVING you all you need for free? Remember, the purpose of the law is to allow the "ill" to get their medicine. And we can spread male pollen without growing hemp, it is less than $1.00 a pound in Canada. Take a copter over the forest, and spread it out. "A little dab will do ya.'"

I agree with comment number one. As to number two, it guts their argument that they need to grow. Come get all you need, FOR FREE, just pass our little physical needs test.

What's all this "it started with Measure G" crap, bubba?

Marijuana cultivation started 10,000 years ago in the Fertile Crescent. Went from there to Asia and then over the Bering Sea land bridge into the Pacific Northwest. The Trinity-Humboldt-Mendocino "Emerald Triangle" grows started back in the 1960's NOT in the year 2000 when Measure G was passed. Don't you know anything except revisionist rightwing propaganda?

And Mendocino is definitely not the most liberal county for MMJ. Santa Cruz is light years ahead with their NO plant limit policy. Oakland is more liberal and so is Sonoma county. Get real, bubba!

Or, we legalize the adult use of cannabis, start a program similar to Holland with coffeeshops allowed to sell a max 5 grams at any one time to adult 18 or older, 21 if you want guidelines similar to alcohol. Cost per 3.5 grams $40 tax included at 7.75% is $2.88 per 3.5 grams sales tax. Value of commercial cannabis drops significantly. Tax revenue increases in the tens of millions. Money to fund our teachers, health care, build the new jail/justice center.

Holland generates 400 million EURO per year of sales tax revenues from cannabis shops. That is approx $600 MILLION US DOLLARS! Per year.

I have beem to Holland. A million junkies looking to mug you to get their next fix. Besides, what you are talking about is NATIONWIDE legalization. That is not happening, and Mendocino cannot take the abuse and damage created from your hyper-liberal agenda.

here are the stats we could generate in our county alone

• 2006 plant count for Mendocino county = 256,519
• Each plant average 4 ounces x 256,519 plants = 1,026,076 ounces = 29,243,166 grams
• 29,243,166 grams at 3.5 grams per 1/8th ounce = 8,355,190.28 1/8th ounce
• At $40 per 1/8th (price includes sales tax), and the sales tax amount at 7.75%=$2.88 per 1/8th ounce in sales tax
•$2.88 per 1/8th ounce x 8,355,190 1/8th ounces =$24,062,947.20 EACH YEAR!

If the CAMP numbers are representative of 10% of the total amount of pot grown in Mendocino County, then 100% of the plant numbers would produce total sales tax (at 7.75%) of $240,629,472.00. This is at 4 ounces per plant. If, as measure B suggests, that the plants produce 1 pound per plant, the number will quadruple to $96,251,788.80 at 10% plant numbers! If you had 100% numbers, then the potential sales tax income would be a staggering $962,517,888.00!

LETS BE PROACTIVE, NOT REACTIVE! What are the feds going to do if we start this? Arrest the entire county? Time for a different way.
