When you sell you pot to gang members what do you expect is going to happen. Gang members feel they can do what ever they please. Wen you get involved in the gangs you have to expect something like this to happen. People in Fort Bragg have been growing pot for over 50 years and now it's starting to get very dangerous because people are greedy and they are selling to gang members in their homes. So now the gangs know where to go. Hmmm Who's to blame for that. The stupidity of some growers.

More than half the pot grown ends up in the hands of kids under the age of 18.

Because a few states decided not to care about drug dealers, pot has ended up in the possession of millions of kids.

If we legalize pot we will be legalizing and profiting from the sale of pot to kids. This will make us all drug dealers.

Allot of growers are saying," We will make it illegal to sell to kids, just like cigarettes".
Today it's illegal to sell pot to kids but that's not stopping the growers from doing it.

What we have today are growers that don't care how young their buyers are, and cops who through their inaction, don't seem to care who sells drugs to who.

This needs to change.

Where do you get your facts? I find this number grossly overinflated.

Many old time growers have been robbed at gunpoint on more than one occasion, some have had their children duct taped at gunpoint. To report the crime would have put their profits at risk, so it was not reported. Ask around it is not disputable.
Narcos in the bay area say it is common knowledge in the less than compassionate gang driven drug groups that to find both pot and cold hard cash all they have to do is drive to mendo, drive up nearly any dirt road and rob the house they find there--at little risk to themselves. Fortunately most can't drive or don't want to drive up here or don't know how to drive on a dirt road. Basically I'm surprised more haven't taken advantage of our largess. Writing off your grow loss is just a price of doing business. Hopefully your kids who are doing the trimming aren't harmed while these really bad guys exert their macho talents on our amateurs.
Just remember marijuana dope growers/dealers are engaged in non-violent crime. No one ever gets hurt or killed in these dope rip-offs. A lot of missing persons are buried in marijuana country. Some because there was a falling out among business partners, some that were rip-offs, some that were defending against rip-offs, and some undocumented hired help that got a bullet at the end of the season instead of the $10,000.-$25,000. they were promised. We never hear anything about most of them because no one knows where they went or where they were. Especially with undocumented workers the family in Mexico has no idea where they are. Some growers aren't satisfied with not paying workers comp and social security. They don't want to pay wages either. Non-violence my bleep.

Kinda sounds like the greed and lies the Tobacco growers fed us in decades past, and these dopers are the same ones trying to put that industry out of business!

OOOOOOOOOOOO that pooor poooor pot grower got hurt did he? Hmmm guess he can't call pot a "victimless" crime anymore...I wish I could say that perhaps they 'beat some sense into him" but truth be told...pot growers/users have no sense, just inane chatter and endless hyberole rationalizing nothingness! The grower needs to go from the hospital to jail right along with the robbers......wrong is wrong and this is all wrong

Just remember:

Growing marijuana commercially is a non-violent crime and is unrelated to the home invasion robberies, rip-offs, and other violence that is a normal part of a criminal drug dealinig enterprise.

If they make pot legal they will never get it out of the schools and making pot legal wont take away the profits or the criminal element that are inseparable from it.

We don’t need more laws against pot there are plenty already. We just need police with enough courage and morals to do their job and enforce the pot laws.

Theres pot available in every High School in the nation, every Junior High school in the nation, and half the grade schools in the nation. This is a true statement. How much pot does it take to make this statement true? How much pot pours out of Mendocino alone every year? Several groups including local law enforcement hace estimated that there is easyly around $30,000,000,000 a year in profits flowing into Mendocino alone.

You need to sit down and think about it. If you can, do the math.

Study a bit more history and I think you will find you are wrong. Look at prohibition. Perfect example. This is an artificial market.

I'll try to explain it to you. It will lower the price because people could grow their own. In your part of the world people may be able to grow but in most other parts of this nation it is illegal to grow any pot. Creates a market. When there is less demand the price comes down, the profits to be had are reduced. Simple economics. Open your mind Watcher.
The police have much to deal with. I prefer they concentrate on the violent criminals first.
No one said no problems with alcohol, get a grip. I was pointing out the crime connection, mafia, drive by hits, runners, big time stuff. Don't see that now that it is legalized. A person smoking a MJ cigarette in their own home after work is not something I see as a threat. BIG difference here. Stay on topic.
I work in a school and most of the kids are not pot fiends. Pot has been in the schools for decades. I know it was in the 70's when I went to school. We grew up anyway, got jobs anyway, raised kids anyway, do volunteer work anyway. Not so bad after all. The drugs which took peoples lives? Alcohol, opioids, cocaine, speed. I never heard of one person dying from pot in all these years.
I do not see pot as a threat. I have three kids, none of which smoke it. 23, 20, 17. It is a personal choice. Smoking is bad for your health in general. So many won't smoke for that reason alone. Give people some credit. Erase the artificial market and legalize it.
I would prefer they concentrate on the meth labs myself.

You say pot growing is a non-violent arena? You must be new to planet Earth, Welcome.

Did you know that more than half the pot grown ends up in the hands of kid’s under the age of 18?

Are you aware of what today’s high quality pot doe's to the learning ability of millions of kids?

You definitely implied that legalizing booze took the problems out of it.

You said, "Erase the artificial market and legalize it". Can you imagine what would happen if we applied this alleged reasoning to all drugs.

Laws are out there because there’s a large group of us that don't appear to have any morals or self control at all.

You say, "Give people some credit". I believe we are as free as we are responsible as a group. I'm not worried about the people who know how, when and where to say NO to themselves. I'm concerned about the ones that don't or cant. The number of people in this category seems to be increasing quickly in this area because pot is more legal here than anywhere and not all of them are growers.

Have you pissed checked your kids recently?
