Hispanics may stay away from work at poultry plants this week

There are 182 comments on the blog.al.com story from Oct 9, 2011, titled Hispanics may stay away from work at poultry plants this week. In it, blog.al.com reports that:

Hispanics upset about Alabama's new immigration law may take a page from civil rights and union pioneers this week and stay home a day to demonstrate their economic impact. "They don't believe they are the ones running the economy, but if they don't show up for work, those big companies are going to lose a lot of money, and maybe they will pressure lawmakers to change the law." Elia Ortega of Albertville said Friday, referring to the area's big poultry plants.

Oh I'm well aware of the slaughterhouse situation. If we or the state gives in now, it's all over with the exception of Nobama's amnesty signature. Why the black community can't see what the illegals are doing to them is no mystery, however, it is sad.

Hope their bosses will fire them all and not allow them to go back to work. Of course I'm talking to the legal immigrant latinos and citezens who works in the food industry which is all the jobs they could qualify for. They are accesories to crime by harboring the illegals including the high percentage on welfare.

That puts you more in precarious situation than anyone else. Your work ethics, personal behaviours will be put on for scrutiny which will be used against you. You can still be easily replace by cheaper operating robotic for chicken raising.

That has to be the funniest thing you're written to date. You're so full of bull chit! I vividly remember a raid in MS where hundreds of illegals were arrested at a poultry plant. The next day U.S. citizens lined up to take the jobs.

There certainly is, where I live the illegals have taken jobs under the table, our black community once were proud to do. There's an 18.9% black unemployment rate with an approximate 40% black teenager unemployment. The blacks have been brainwashed by the likes of the NAACP, Sharpton, Jackson, etc to believe the Hispanics are their friend, however, IMO they are not!

Just wait until E Verify rolls around, these workers can stay home for good.

“It is amazing to see the effects” as undocumented workers leave town, said Chuck Ellis, a member of Albertville’s city council."

"On Monday, for example, the Wayne Farms chicken-processing plant in Marshall County held a jobs fair to fill slots that opened when many illegal workers left the county. The line “was probably equivalent to a couple of blocks … It was a largely Anglo and black group,” but also included Hispanics, said Ellis."

You guys have to read post # 132891, written by Non Complacent Chick in the Hispanics fear profiling under the new Arizona law. Her 7 year old grandson's been notified by the IRS as to income and taxes owed.
