There are houses like this all over Nassau County, and I'm certain in Suffolk too. Neighbors don't bother because the smell is so strong it becomes nauseating at a bare minimum. You don't want to stop moving your feet because you're worried about the creepy-crawlies going up your legs, and don't think about sitting down. Now start thinking what the EMS, Police and Firefighters go through when they HAVE to go into these houses for extended periods of time. You can call Social Services, but these houses usually go unchecked until the residents die. At that point, tear the house down, it's not worth gutting it.
