The Village Knitter in Babylon is great! I learned to knit in two classes, and am currently working on a blanket for my children. Karen and Karin are always helpful when I drop in for some pointers. The new space is so wonderful, lots of variety of yarn, and accessories. You should give it a try.

Yarn Garden on Old Country just off the Oyster Bay Seaford parkway is the best yarn shop on the island! They're always helpful and they are always hosting benefits for animal rescue organizations, poverty aid, etc. Not only that but they've started carrying American made giftware, toys, etc to help keep Americans employed!!
Wonderful people that don't just claim to care about our community but really do their part to make Long Island a better place.
