"Police said there's no indication the victims were targeted."
That's a joke, right?

word...I agree, newcomers to the block, from where? These guys knew who they were robbing. You target homes when people are there for two reasons,to send a message or because they need to tell you where the goods are.Or both.

I think the sentence for a crime like this should be very, very serious. 20 years. Life.

This is a crime of Latinos. We need to put a mandatory sentence of 15 years wo parole for people that rob and kidnap in homes.
I think it would be better if we made them walk back to their country's jail, and have them put in THERE.

What else is new? LIPA invades my home every day through the wire and robs me against my will by charging the highest electric rates in the country, they might as well show up with a shotgun and kick my front door in.

fyi -- i live in the neighborhood where this occurred and it bears noting that the former owners of the home that was burglarized were engaged in not so legal activity. i wouldn't be surprised if that's why that particular house was targeted.

the family that lives there now is wonderful, however -- and my heart goes out to them and their little boy.

Its time for everyone to arm themselves with weapons and learn how to use them. This happens far to often on Long Island. I don't expect or rely on the police or the Govt to protect me. My whole family knows how to use firearms. We shall certainly kill any intruder or intruders that enter our home.

Dear Prince Charming, don't you think the guy in the ski mask was seeing to it that they didn't recognize him? Why ONE guy in a mask & one without?
Oh, and your manners are in concordance with your location.

It would be more realistic if the guy posing as a utility employee would have psoed as a Nassau cop. They are the real impersonators.

Oh right, and we don't pay high taxes, or pay teachers and cops an extrodinary salary, cable is cheap... mine is 189 higher than my electric bill. Oh and there is oil prices that are high and gasoline... so what exactly is your point? We are all being held at gunpoint by all these entities? At least you can turn off a light or the A/c....

No neighborhood on Long Island is safe any more. Our parents and grandparents were able to sleep well at night with their doors unlocked.

Rarely see a cop car? If its a quiet neighborhood what are they busy doing? Why get they make patrols, anyway? The crooks know which neighborhoods there not patroling also.Keep the quiet neighborhoods safe, we pay taxes to!
