Are you really that naive and paranoid?!?!?! Business sell all the time. Bottom line is when customers buy your product, business grows and you have a job. Stop being so paranoid!!! If you really want to control your own destiny, then become self-employed. And stop listening to the BS from the unions!!! They are far more interested in their own business than yours! Wake up and smell the real world!!!!!!!!

only naive one is yourself, once merger happens cvs will take ownership of the freestanding stores (osco). Oh btw cvs treats thier people like poop on a stick i know this from personal experience....mainly management. I would speculate that people in the combination stores won't notice a thing, mainly jewel-osco associates won't see any difference. also the osco people cvs inherits will most likely keep their pay and seniority. reason for this is they will want to keep the stores open so they don't lose the newly acquired customer base.

Okay, where to start...First,'snotspill'? Are you serious!?!?
Anyway, it seems like you have some animosity (that's anger, jethro) against CVS. Perhaps you missed the memo; location management in the drug store business has always been known for long hours and lousy pay.(btw I know that from personal experience myself)
Next, you say that Jewel/Osco folks in conbo stores "won't notice a thing" and inherited Osco folks will keep current pay and seniority. So where is my naivete? Seems like it's just business?
Let's all just relax and move on. If 'snotspill' dislikes CVS that much, I hear Wal-Mart is hiring!

CVS has no intention of dropping workers who do their job properly. as for the way they treat their Employees, I have one Son in Management (Over 15 years w/ CVS) and another Son who is an associate, only w/CVS for a short time and they both like working there.

We as employee's don't have much control over what happens with the sale of the company nor do they want us to. Just remember most of us have been through this before and what we learned from the 2004 strike was they really don't care.Without the unions we would be making what wallmart employee's do.Albertson's hasn't learned that the employee's make the company not management, they come and go
