What can happen when he owes back child support? My boyfriend owes over $9,000 in back child support as I found out after looking at his credit report. It obviously has been reported to the credit bureaus since it shows up on his reports from The Department of Revenue. He has not made a payment in an extremely long time. His license was suspended in December for failure to pay and he continued to drive until April, when I found out that his license had been suspended. I didn't know any of this before I got pregnant and now I am 7 months pregnant with a baby boy. I'm thinking about leaving my boyfriend but I'm wondering what will happen if we go to court because he wants visitation. Since he owes so much child support, hasn't made a payment, has no job, and has no car, what could happen? I feel like the judge will just laugh in his face and demand that he makes more child support payments, but I'm not sure.

What are all of the possibilities of things happening to him since he owes over $9,000? Would he still get visitation? Or would the judge throw him in jail?
