She thought it was abandoned. Yeah and I have a bridge to sell. Leaving aside the issue of a house being abandoned doesn't give you the right to go in and steal stuff, how many "abandoned" homes would have a refrigerator with food in it, items in the bathroom, etc. etc.

She knew darn well that the house wasn't abandoned. She's lucky he wasn't waiting for her with a shotgun.
