I thought pharmacys were taught that if they were being robbed to give the person placebo 80s, which are supplied by purdue in case something like this happens

Actually Nope pharmacies do carry fake oxycontin in case of robberies. I have two family members that work in pharmacies and they are required to attend a seminar each month to practice what to do if they do get robbed. Dont respond like an idiot if you have no idea what your talking about.

This is NOT true lol being that my wife has worked in this field for 15 years for a few different outfits I can assure you that they would NOT do this in fear of a mess up... why would you even post BS like this to make the public think otherwise? is it the fact you need attention? seriously why post BS like this....

I have heard that Purdue does make these fake oxys for this specific purpose. But I think that it would potentially cause a lot of problems. There are a lot more junkie pharmacists than most people realize. It would be so easy for a pharmacist to replace a few real oxycontin pills with the placebos and the patient would never know, they would just think that their medicine isn't working very well at the time when they take the placebos.
Meanwhile the pharmacist would make out with a handfull of free oxys, and no one would notice because I doubt they would even bother to keep a count on the fake pills anyway.

A lot of people do enroll in pharmacology because they know they'd have easy access to pills all day. The only problem is that the good shit is all watched, they count every oxycontin pill in most pharmacies. But if you have uncounted fakes, it'd be easy to switch.
It is just highly unethical to replace a pain patient's medication with placebos.

I dont think they do either. But wouldn't the pharmacy keep track of the fakes too, besides they would quickly run low on fakes and they would need to order more buithout being robbed.

Hmmm... This is the 1st time ive heard of fake Contin.wot would happen if like that other post said they got mixed up or a corrupt chemist swaps a few pills here and there? The pain sufferer would think 'hmm, these arent workin very well' and most probly take 2 more to make sure and wen they do take 2real ones they would more than likely OD! ok point no.2 wot happens wen the junkie thief delivers the 'fake' pills to would be buyers or would be dealers and they dont work? Do u think this guy might cop a hollow point to the back of his head? I know I know 1 less junkie thief on the street but I dont think this is very ethical. Tell me, is there really placebo Contin?ive never heard of this. I have heard of placebo morphine injections administered in hospitals to eliminate morph abuse I know this 1st hand cos they tried it on me wen I had my accident.they inject u with sodium chloride B.P instead of the real deal. But I noticed there was a problem when I WAS STILL IN FAARKING PAIN! so they then gave me another shot which wot do ya know took away the pain. I just dont think they would supply chemists with actuall bottles of identical fake oxies there would be to much room for error and corruption.definately one i'l be looking into.

hey cat, hows i going?
i dont thing it was how the woman had the balls to do this, i think it was an addiction driving her to do this. i cant remember if you said you ever had addiction problems but you know i have. its amazing how a persons addiction can make them do things they normally wouldnt do. i can say that with some certainy because i was once there. i did some things im not proud of when i was in the height of my addiction. i even had a pharm robbery all planed out. but then i thought to myself, "WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU THINKING, DUMBASS?!?!" if i could barely hold my life together, how in the hell could i ever pull off robbing a place? better judgement or divine intervention saved my ass that day.

for alot of addicts, they dont think about consequences until after the deed has been done. partly because thier addiction has them by the boo boo so bad, they cant do nothing BUT listen to it. im not saying this justifies an addicts actions but i can explain somewhat why they do the things they do. especailly when they are going thru withdrawls. i knew some addicts who would hear voices when they were in really bad w/ds. im not gonna say i never did but i fought with myself internally quite a few times about what was right and wrong. i know its hard to understand this especially if someone has never been down that road before. people ask "why dont they just quit?". trust me when i say alot if not a vast majority of addicts wish it was that easy. but its not. its one thing to be physically addicted but its a whole different ballgame when a person becomes mentally and emotioanlly addicted as well as physically addicted to a substance. some drugs are worse than others when it comes to being addicted. ive been/am addicted to alot of different drugs over the 22 years ive been an addict but for some reason, opiate addiction is by far the worse. when you became an opiate addict, it consumes your life completely. thats the only thing that matters and you spend all your time and energy making sure you dont go into withdrawls. when i was still using/abusing opiates, right after i got high, before i even pulled the needle outa my arm, i was already thinking about when, where and how i was getting my next fix. i can understand why people hold up pharmacies because of thier addiction but that doesnt make it right to do so. just my thoughts on this. post ya later.

cat,
yes, everything is MUCH better. ive bee clean for a tad over two years now. im not sure if it was desperation as it ws more of my sickness(addiction). you should never have to aplogize when your speaking your mind here. thats what topix is for. and dont worry, no offnce was taken. i was jsut trying to let people know where her mind might have been and i was just trying to explain the darkness of addiction for those who might not understand it too well. i thought i could maybe tryi and explain a little about what an addict goes thry while being addicted beings i was once there myself. trust me dear, its gonna take alot more than that to offend me!! have a good evening and a great rest of the weekend!! post ya later.
