I have known this boy and his entire family for twenty years or longer. I think what his soul is going to suffer is going to help punish him. I want to know why the methamphetamine makers that made and sold him the crap he was doing isn't behind bars with him. I know with all my heart if that boy done this which he has admitted to family members who have in return told me that he did admit to it, that the drugs surely was the ultimately the cause. I drive passed the Burchett home at least 2 times a week and wonder the real truth behind that day. We will never know what really happened behind those doors or the thoughts that ran through Johnathan's mind, but we need to remember that there was devil's poison running through his mind and we as a community need to get these meth makers out of here and behind bars. Then Johnathan can tell them as they do time together the gruesome details that he done to his mom which I can tell you all were something from a horror show. He left behind a beautiful little girl whom lost her daddy, granny, and poppa all in one drug binged night. GOD please look over our little angels because if the drugs around NOW make you do things like this peaple imagine what will be around for our babies.

For those who are interested....Jonathan was sentenced yesterday to a "true" life sentence meaning that he will never be eligible for parol. As for my own feelings, those of you are quiet right..Right is right, Wrong is wrong. We all make choices in life tht we must answer for or atone to. This tragedy rippled through our family like a tidal wave that haunts our children's dreams and our waking moments. No words can describe the horror or pain that we witnessed inside the crime scene, no words can ease our pain. The judgement handed to him will serve as a reminder that being alive is good, far better than the sentence that he gave to his own parents who will never see their grandchildren grow, who will never see the season's change, and will never know the warmth of the sun on their skin again.

I have known John (and Patrick) since 1988.
My mother went to school with and was friends with his grandma.
I knew his grandma, Ronnie, Charlona, The baby, and I guess you could say the whole family.

I also worked with John and Pizza-Hut.
I know John had got in with the wrong crowd, but they were all "Good People".

I will never understand what happened (as I am sure no one else will), what happened because I know for a fact that John loved his parents.
Both of them, but especially his dad.

If he did this I am sure that he was so "stoned" that he probably doesn't even remember it, which would explain how he lives with it everyday.

I thought alot of John as well as the whole family.

Something happened that nobody knows about because after all we are not talking about a teenage kid that didn't get their way about something and killed their parent's to get it.
This was a college graduate, with a great work history, who started having problems in the end which his parents were trying to help him through and fix.

There is more to this story than any one including myself will ever know.

Get a grip, all of those so called "good people", were in my opinion "good druggies", both male and female. What is so "good" about a click, that stays high, living off of stealing and pawning from family and friends? At one time, I am sure he loved his family,(as a young teenager, before he got a druggie girlfriend) but when you start messing with drug hos and you have drug buddies, then you turn on those people you love, like your family that is keeping you up. After drugs, he didn't love his family, and he was in a sound mind when he did it. And I'd like to know where you figure he was a hard worker and college graduate at. He went to college, and dropped out. He worked for a little while, until he got with "those good people", then he went walking around with his hand out from then on. For a very long time might I add. Quit painting such a pretty picture because some of us don't walk around with our blinders on. Yeah, you say something happened, duh. Something happened that people that actually "knew what he was capable of and didn't find surprising at all".
Yeah, watch out for baby "M", or heck I keep on forgetting, and apparently the world is ignorant too, but John has THREE kids that were effected by this, how about watch over all three of them. They can't help it that their parents have loose and carefree lifestyles and don't look out for their emotions and best interest in the worlds.

The last time I had saw John wa a couple of years before he had killed his parents and I didn't know he had 3 kids because baby M was a baby at the time, and he hadn't had the other 2 yet apparently.

John was on drugs when I worked with him;
and he still loved his parents.
He was also proud of his dad.

Ronnie and Charlona WERE good people who didn't deserve this.

They were church goers; they were trying to help their son who was in trouble, They were involved in their kid's lives, and their grandkids, Ronnie worked everyday even tho he was needing a kidney transplant.

I went to high school with Johnathan. That is what we called him back in the day. He was a little weird but he was always extremely nice. As I remember he was also very intelligent. There are so many people who are "good people" and get addicted to illegal substances. I work with addicts day in and day out and it is a disease that people can not shake. I think Johnathan was a sane individual. However, while on whatever type of drugs he was on I am sure he did not know what he was doing. Either way he should pay for what he did to his parents. I am sure he sits in prison everyday and wishes that he could take that day back. Maybe some of his friends got a good slap in the face and can learn from his mistakes. He was selfish in choosing to do these drugs and throw the rest of his life away. Everyone lost out! He sits in jail. His brother lost his entire immediate family. His children lost their grandparents and their father. The dealers lost a good client. Someone had to clean up one big mess. Others sit and judge on the internet! So please tell me who obtained anything good from this situation?
