Yes they had to do CPR on her before they even left the home. I think sometimes we have sorry ER doctors. Not all maybe but some. I was thinking that they would keep her to observe her more but I guess they didnt think so. But Thank God she is doing fine now. I hope this dont cause her any problems later on in life, but we just have to Pray and thanks to all you that are praying for her and her family.

For some children, a fever of 99.2 can make them go into febrile seizures. Others have to get really high before they do this. It all depends on the child's body and their responses to fever.

my son also had febral seizurees praise God he out grew them but it took years.. the first is the worse because with him he turned a funny shade and bucked back..He had them everytime he ran a fever and at times there was no warning.. from one mom to another keep ibuprofen and tylenol on hands you can rotate them every two hours hopefully this will prevent another. this was my doctors request. lack of oxygen to the brain is what you have to worry about i think. read up on them i think the cold bathes my parents used on me are no longer recommended.

No, you don't use cold bathes anymore. It can throw them into convulsions. You use a warm bath. Them steam from the warm bath the gets on there back will gradually cool them down.

I'm a nurse and have never heard of a warm bath reducing a fever.

You need to go back to nursing school.

NO, YOU need to go TO nursing school. You never put a child in water above the temperature of their fever, which would be warm, nor to you put them into cold water, which can cause convulsions. You put them in luke-warm water, and mainly keep the water on top of their head, to make sure the scalp is kept cool. Either this or putting cool rags under their arms, head, and around the back of their neck. You people who think you know it all amaze me. When you have to do this to your own child, like I did, call me, then we will talk about a warm bath! You probably sew your childs cuts, instead of getting stitches. Do you use buttons for a more fashionable look? Good grief!

Did you just read what you said? You said you put them in water the temperature of their feet. Which would be warm, pretty warm especially if they are running a temperature of 103 to 105. Compared to the feel of your own hand to the water the temperature of the water would be "WARM". When you touch your child's head and he has a temperature of 103 to 105 do you say he is "luke-warm"? No you don't! You just said what I did.

With all this said if your child is shivering in the bath the water is too cold, that will only make the temperature rise more. Shivering is the body trying to make heat. Don't bundle the child if he is cold this will only keep the heat in. Dress them in normal bedtime clothing. You can on the other hand put cold packs underneath the arm or between their legs.

Or you could just google how to treat a temperature. Make sure you find a reputable site. Not anything like this site or Yahoo answers.

it is not a warm bath that you give them to bring down their fever it is a luck warm bath... not too cold but not real warm either
