i would recommend lexington .if i were able, i would move back to michigan. although i am from kentucky, i spent 10 years there and they have a lot more healthcare choices than here.

Even if you are sincere looking for a good doctor, this is a bad place to ask for advice. Talk with friends or just look in the phone book and call one. If the first one is not what you want try another....Good luck

Go to rehab. With over two decades taking that strong of an opiate your going to get really dope sick coming off. At your age and health it could kill you. To be honest I don’t think you have been on the medication for 20 years because Oxycontin was not introduced to markets until 1996. It is just Hydrocodone but prescribed in larger dosages and higher milligrams. The medicine was not meant for you and was supposed to treat the pain associated with terminal lung cancer and black lung. The majority of Oxycontin is given in 20 milligram or higher dosges. Only cancer and severe burn patients should be given that medication because it is so easy to become addicted and so strong.

I have Neuropathy and nerve damage in my back from a car wreck. I have mild Arthritis that will get worse as I age. I take advil, 200 pills for $9 at Wal-Mart. MD's offer stronger stuff but I decline because it is too expensive and addictive. There is a pain patch that will start being sold over the counter without opiates for Neuropathy and Fibromyalgia begining next year. It is a high dosage of ibuprofen and other pain relievers with no side effects that many people who can't take ibuprofen suffer from. Sorry but the Pain clinics are going away.

Every damned doctor in albany is a pain doctor, why do you think literally every individual is addicted to percocet, hydrocodone, etc.

It is not the MDs in Albany who are prescribing this stuff, it is these pain clinics, and some people need a mild pain med for a lifetime. My Grandpa took tylenol 3 for the last six years of his life. It was low dosage. He got 30 a month and took as needed for pain. He might not take one for up to three days and the following day take 2 for pain. That's what Albany MDs do, this woman was on cancer pain type meds for mild pain like my grandpa had. I can't see any of these MDs in this town handing out pain meds meant for severe pain of terminal lung disease to the 20-35 year olds taking the pills.

Per capitia Albany has the most suffering people that ever lived. Everyone is in pain and on death's door.
