Common sense,'''why would Wall-Mart move from an estabilished location and start another one ? and Monticello (Wayne Co) has more population then Clinton Co so use your sense that God gave you and do a little brain exercise.
There's a possibility that Clinto Co,Could get a small version of wal mart but i can not see them closing a prosprous business in one locationg and move 25 miles to another.

Location.....Clinton Co. is in a location where they would draw business from: Cumberland, Pickett, Russell, & Wayne counties as opposed to Clinton & McCreary County. But other than this I agree about moving an established business but, it may not be doing the business that they think it should. About the lease, if Lowes moves in the current building that would make up for that, maybe. Since Wal Mart owns part interest (50%), according to what I was told, of Lowes.

I Have work at Walmart for 15 years we was told that Lowes is coming to this location and we are moving to Albany Ky. Walmart owns a big interest in Lowes. It is Due to No Walmart in Burksville Ky, Russell Springs Ky, Jamestown Ky and Byrdstown Tn. But if they will. I cannot said. I guess we will know when it started. I was told by people That I work with, that are higher than I am.

RUSSELL SPRINGS IS 12 MILES /BURKESVILLE IS 22 MILE/JAMESTOWN IS 14 MILES FROM COLUMBIA WALMART AND YOU HAVE GREAT ROADS TO TRAVEL..BYRDSTOWN TENN IS ALSO CLOSER TO LIVINGSTON WITH MUCH BETTER RDS.THEIRS A LOWES IN SOMERSET ONLY 18 MILES FROM MONTICELLO.DO YOU EXPECT ANYONE TO BELIEVE THAT THEIRS ENOUGH BUILDING GOING ON IN MONTICELLO TO SUPPORT A LOWES 18 MILES APART//15 YEARS YOU POSTED THAT [THEIR HIGHER THAN ME]. THEY MUST BE SMOKING THE REAL GOOD STUFF IF YOU THINK ANYONE BELIEVES THIS. THANK FOR THE LAUGH SMOKIE

The people from Tennesse will come to it so they don't have to pay the high TN taxes and no taxes on food in KY.

Also sure??? When was the last time you drove from Burkesville to Columbia??? Even with the new road that drive SUX! The new Wal-Mart has purchased land at the cautions lights on Hwy 90, which would be 10 times closer and 100 times better road!

Plus Wal Mart will not lose Monticello customers, they will only gain, Monticello people will either go to somerset or clinto, which Walmart still gets the monety from either place. By moving it to clinton they are spreading them out more to try and get more people, I for one, if I need something small right now I will just pay 3 arms and a leg at either IGA or Save a none, but I would drive out to 90 and save the money walmart would save.

Huff will never let a Walmart come to Clinton county. He did everything he could to keep Fred's out. He's already made his brags.
Remember, Donnie McWhorter admitted he kept Walmart out and he got elected.
