The man's name was Dale Gettings and he had went to the Sharer home to give Shanda's brother, Larry Dale, to a party. If you recall Laurie tried to imply that the guy she saw at the Sharer home,(when the girls went there the second time to abduct Shanda), may have been the one that caused the rectal wounds. All 4 of the girls have denied raping Shanda. Laurie tried to say that Shanda must have had anal sex before she was abducted and that was how she had the rectal injuries.

That should say that Gettings went to give Larry Dale a ride to a party.
BTW Larry Dale had already left for the party.

Sue have you noticed that since we caught Amanda in the lies she hasn't wrote in here. And to all the readers in here, Sue has done a wonderful job on Jackie's page. You should go read it.

It is Amanda for real. It's so sad that she is the way she is.

No, Amanda has nothing to say anymore. You are not saying anything good about her and she only comes around here for positive attention. She wants to be fussed over in a good way. Makes her feel like a celebrity. If you talk bad about her she will stay away. It is so sad-her.

That's too bad that Amanda needs validation from strangers CeCe.
Perhaps if she done something to try and make a positive change in the world and worked on her own character flaws, she wouldn't need to be *fussed over*.
Perhaps it's the reason she has a history of having relationships with more than one person at a time.

I just wanted to state several things on here...
I used to live in New Albany and wanted to see if there were any updates on the case since I had moved away 6 years ago. That's when I discovered this message board maybe three weeks ago. Since then I have read every single post, and I have to admit that I am a little dumbfounded with some of you posting on here who have no emotional attachment or baggage to this case. However, I do apppreciate you keeping Shanda's memory alive. She was a beautiful girl inside and out, and she does deserve to haver her memory preserved for others to read about.
I went to school with Shanda when she transferred to OLPH. We became friends, however I knew very little about her life before OLPH. I was talking to her on the phone the night she died. In fact her mom made her get off the phone with me because she was about to take off to go to her dad's house.
The only reason I am even writing this is to confront one thing that Amanda keeps posting. After Shanda turned up missing, Jacque called me to ask if I knew where Shanda might be. I knew of Amanda and had seen her around, and Shanda had mentioned her to me several times without going into detail about their sexual relationship. I thought they were just friends. Anyways, when Jacque called me I told her to check with Amanda, as she might know where Shanda was. She told me she had already called Amanda, but still couldn't find Shanda.
My question is... If Amanda had called her and warned her that night about Melinda, why had her mom said to me personally that she had tried Amanda and still had no idea where Shanda was. If Amanda truly warned her, then Jacque should have had to turn no further than Amanda, Melinda, and the coven of trash they surrounded themselves with to find out what had happened to her daughter.
The day after I spoke to Jacque I found out about Shanda's murder. I didn't sleep for two weeks and couldn't even turn the light off in my bedroom for about a month, I was so horrified. This case is still very dear to me some 16 years later and I still find myself thinking about how great of a person Shanda was and would have become had this horrible event not occured. My heart still goes out to Jacque and everyone else in New Albany who's life has been affected by this murder.
For those of you that are merely reading the books and internet blogs, you really have no right or reason to pass judgement in the defense of Amanda. I truly believe she could have prevented this and will always hold her partially (albeit very minimally) responsible for what happened to Shanda. And this is coming from someone who actually had to endure this nightmare...

Also, VideoGuy I watched your clip on YouTube. I wanted to write you immediately after I viewed it and thank you for making it. I'm glad you got to travel to our little corner of the world and visit beautiful Southern Indiana. Keep up the good work, and please try to post some follow up videos on the case.

Anonymous, thank you for taking the time to post here. Jacque also told me that she had called Amanda looking for Shanda on that Saturday. Amanda had ALREADY seen the trunk of the car and STILL she didn't say one word to ANYONE.

Anonymous, Hi I'm Mary and I've lived in Floyd County all my life. I spent 4 years in Ft. Hood Tx but I've been here the rest of my life. I went 7th thru 11th with Jackie and I love her dearly. I've just gotten into this myself. I knew Shanda was Jackie's daughter but I had no idea the way she left this world til just here recently. It's all I can think about. I dont want the last 2 devils to walk at all. I just about lost it when I read in here that Amanda said Jackie was abusive, thats what got me going. So I'm so glad you wrote here for all to see. Thank You

I agree CeCe, she always comes back here. I'm sure she is coming here now too, reading things but choosing to remain quiet.
It would be so nice to hear just one person admit to the fact that they played just a small part in Shanda's fate.
I doubt that will ever happen though.

Hello All, I agree with what your saying. And Sue your right no one will ever own up to what happened to Sweet Shanda. I would love to go to Shanda's grave, but I will be happy to take Jackie a rose. I'm going to put this rose from us not just me. Take Care All.
