Come out and play with Alberrito Streets!
The cities of Albany and El Cerrito are teaming up to create a giant playground, by diverting traffic and letting people come out and play at this FREE event! Residents and local organizations are invited to bring a game, host an activity or just stroll on the traffic-free streets.
“Alberrito Streets” provides a safe, fun, car-free environment to encourage all community members to get active. This event will take place August 28th from noon to 3pm on Key Route Boulevard from “A” street to Thousand Oaks Boulevard. This event will feature a “Zumba lesson, street sports (soccer, dodgeball, tennis, 4-square and more!), bike riding (and bicycle made smoothies), a chalk art gallery, water balloon toss and more. Albany and El Cerrito residents will also square off in a friendly tug-of-war match, to see which city can pull the hardest.
When: August 28th, 12 – 3
Where: Key Route Boulevard between “A” Street and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, in Albany, CA
Why: To promote healthy activity and community building in Albany and El Cerrito
Who: All Albany and El Cerrito Residents and their friends and families
