I'm wondering whether they are handling an accident, attempted homicide, or attempted suicide? This article was very vague on what the reasoning was behind this "attack".

Where is the second half of this story? What is the cause of the shooting, was it self-inflicted, is anyone being looked at if it wasn't? Once again, the missing information bird is looming over this one.

Journalists are supposed to look into who, what, where, when, why and how something happened and some of that is missing in this article. Anybody else detect that?

I am sure that just like every other news story that we are actually interested in finding out the facts - ADN won't report any more on the story.

I would have to agree. Think also they attempted to add volumn to the article. In a ferble attempt to show visual depth.
Example..1st paragraph they mentioned the man was air-lifted... and had to repeat it in the final paragraph. Also wouldn't you think if the paramedics were on they scene, they would treat the injured? I mean did they go there for doughnuts?

From DPS Logs:

"At approximately 8:13 p.m., DPS and AMR units responded to Alamo Apartments, 100 Crews Ave., on a report of a subject with a gunshot wound. Investigation revealed that a male tenant had apparently been accidentally shot with a handgun. The patient was treated at the scene and then transferred to an El Paso hospital. The investigation continues."

Foo, that was soo uncalled for. Bringing former Deputy Anders in to this is just not right. What happened in both incidents is no laughing matter 3adults dead, 1 8month fetus dead in one incident, and a young man critically injured in another. Where is the joke??

Accidental gunshot wound? Heck better call Billy Anders in for questioning!! After all if Billy could accidentally kill Flippen he should be dragged in for questioning every time an “accidental shooting” has occurred! LOL sorry I could not resist.
Now on the serious side. My thought are with Sean and his family. I do hope the ADN does a follow up story and I hope Sean has a speedy recovery.

Lola, Just to give you (and everybody) a heads up, paramedics, EMTS and First Responders are required by law (when called) to assist in the treatment of said patients according to state mandated treatment protocols. This assistance is a legal liability to those that have responded up until the time treatment has been transferred to a different agency (such as Southwest Medivac and Gerald Champion).

I guarantee to you that the patient received on scene treatment as per protocols until such time the Southwest Medivac helicopter transferred him down to El Paso.

Poor writing in the ADN does not equal nor warrant concerns regarding the professionalism of EMS personnel on scene.

Since I met the EMT that responded to the call last night, I can tell you that the professionalism exhibited with this particular call was right on target.

Whoa!!! I wasn't talking bad about the EMS. I was stating that the paper filled this info in to make their story seem more than what they had.
Sorry you took it wrong, but have a good day anyway.

Lola, I didn't think you were talking bad about EMS. I just wanted to make sure and clarify to everybody that there are rules (protocols) that EMS services are bound to abiding by in response to calls.
Having been EMS now for a few years, I can personally tell you that there are a phenomenal group of volunteers and paid AMR staff dedicated to providing the best service that they are able to provide.
I wish too that the ADN would be more complete with their stories.

WTF is your problem?? After reading so many of your posts, and now this piece of schit post, I have come to what I feel is an accurate conclusion that you are one of those people that just likes to hear the sound of your own voice. Dirty bird...

Dirty bird? Now that is funny. People who think or know me will understand I was not trying to make light of what happened here. I often use sarcasm and absurdity to make a point. Since recent liars have come on Topix to claim Anders accidentally shot his victim I thought the police should question his whereabouts during this time ;o).

PS. Maybe you talk while you type but I do not. Posting to hear the sound of my voice is kind of silly. Maybe you should have said posting to hear the sound of my keyboard but not voice.

The reports that came out from base was it was an accidental self inflicted gunshot wound. From they were saying is the individual was cleaning his gun and accidenatlly shot himself. I am sure this could be a rumor but this is what was stated in a meeting I was in yesterday
If this is a true story, he has no business having a weapon. What is the FIRST thing you do before cleaning a weapon? Check to make sure its unloaded. I guess he naver took common sense 101!
My prayer do however fo out for him and his family. No one deserves tragedy like this.

I can only imagine your frustration. I must of mis-read your post, and wanted to clarify that I was not being derrogatory of the Emergency personnel that responded.
