Sonic Boom that is. For what? For whom?

To waste our taxpayers dollars on shit! Jet Fuel, at millions a day waste

And there was another two, while I was typing.

The costs of "freedom". Who's freedom?

And at who's cost?

How sick this cuntry is!

Who we getting ready to defend? The Israelites?

Those planes you speak of, never been on a mission. And never will at any future point.

Maybe their mission isn't to go abroad? Maybe their mission is to stay right here, and kill north americans?
maybe baby

Is it just me, or do the sonic booms seem a little differant these days. As in, before they seemed very short, almost pop like and didn't resonate through the ground as much, but now they sound a bit longer then in the past and the waves seem to travel through the ground more.

As an military spouse I don't argue that the sonic booms aren't alarming, but I have to factually state that there are military spouses that routinely say good-bye to their spouse that serves in overseas missions piloting F22's. Merry Christmas to the lonely spouses supporting those on missions defending this country.

As a kid who grew up in in Tularosa in the late 50’s & early 60’s, it wasn’t unusual to hear our dad’s make 15-20 sonic booms every day. As military and contractor brats my peers and I knew that those jet jockeys punching holes in the sky were often times “playing” while at the same time being deadly damned serious. They developed in real time what became (in real life) the evasion techniques used against SAM missiles over Vietnam. Those same pilots figured out how to defeat Vietnamese (and by proxy Russian) anti-aircraft radar units. Later they established the tactics needed to become the SAM hunters instead of the hunted when the Wild Weasel program was established.
Sure, those booms can startle the dead, crack windows and even wake the baby but hells bells, if we as a nation are called upon to defend the Israelites or perhaps the Syrian Rebels or who knows, the minor irritations you suffer as a result of those sonic booms are a small price to pay for the lives of the men and women who drive those aircraft.
A quick afterthought; Have you ever seen photographs of Alamogordo and Tularosa and the whole basin area prior to the influx created by the military in the 40’s and 50’s? If it weren’t for WSMR, Holloman AFB along with the research and development facilities associated with the same, Alamo would still be a dusty one-burro desert town and I seriously doubt if Tularosa would even exist.
