The truth is a painful pill to swallow. All that is being said is the truth. This guy made a very stupid mistake and he might pay the biggest price of all.. With his life. If you cant Handel what's being said here your more than welcome to leave topix and let everyone else say what they please. Now go take your anxiety pill and relax.

He chose to drink. He chose do drive away from that bar. He picked his own fate. He deserves no sympathy or pity.

On the other hand if he has kids and a wife/girlfriend, they do. They didn't ask for this, while he did.

I'll pray for strength for his family, but I don't feel a bit sorry for him. He did it to himself.

So many drinking and driving. People need to get out of that mentality that keeps them living like that. We were parked outside of McDonalds' in Ruidoso one day overlooking the area where Walgreen's is, while a friend brought our food from inside McDonald's, and we lost count of how many people went in to the Walgreens' and all came out one by one with 12 packs some 2 in tow, and brown bags with liquor. There was young and old, rich and poor looking. There were dozens and dozens of people who went in and came out with alchohol in a short period of time. We couldn't hardly believe what we were seeing. It is sad that many our living that way. No one came out with a bag with whatever in it, it was all alcohol. Many do need a prayer that their life changes for the better before they hurt themselves and innocent life.
Maybe it was me you saw. Cause I bought 2 12pks of Warsteiner and a bottle of crown. And it was delicious. Go lay your guilt trip on someone else.
I hope the dude makes it. Bottoms up.

I hope no one misunderstood a previous post I made.

That this accident is not a laughing matter. That a young man had this horrible accident, fighting for his life, and I hope that he is still alive, and pulls through this mishap.

I absolutely have no idea of the chain of events of what ctually happened, I may be wrong going by what others have said here?

You folks gotta figure, this young man was not of curse aware of the future consequence of his actions, but if he was drinking at some bar here, then I will say this.

what do you have here in this town, two bars? And maybe another handful of restaurants (Chilis Applebees, etc) that also "act" as bars here.

Of course these restaurants aren't staying open into the wee hours of the morning that the bars do.

Then there may be the problem that bartenders at these bars have absolutely no responsibility, if they are serving patrons to the point of dalling down drunk, and then couldn't give a rat's ass about them climing into their vehicles, and driving away into the night.

And I suspect in many tragic instances, this is what is happening.

It's maybe time law authorities look past the accident alone, the filing of a report, and further investigate where the drinking had occured.

That liqour servers, and Bar Owners need to stop thinking about their greedy selves, and how much money they can put in their cash registers.

That I believe the Bars here are largely fueled by greed.'Let's make the money, and screw the public's well being, and safety".

As others have mentioned, it was fortunate that other innocent person(s) were not involved.

Bar owners will now face charges for over-serving their patrons.

I imgine it can be a comlicated, and uncertain process to harge, and fine bar owners.

Reason why, is there will always be denial, that a bar owner, and their bartenders will always adamantly claim that any person in question left their bar, they were OK, only had 2 or 3 drinks, and that they must of consumed more alcoholic beverages somewhere else?

Perhaps cannot blame a Bar owner in a way, since their livlihood depends upon staying in business, and not getting socked with hefty fines.

That they too cannot predict that any patron who leaves their establishment will be involved in an accident, or perhaps some other criminal activity.

It is then pretty hard to determine what a patron's BAC was when they left, and what it then was at a scene of an accident?

Time is of course a factor, when any said patron leaves an establishment, and then at what time an accident occured?

Alamogordo certainly is not unique in this sense, that these types of accidents occur. They are sad, and very tragic, and that any sane person would not wish such on anyone, regardless of the consequence.

My prayers go out to this person, and his family.

My son grew up with this family. I went to school with his aunt. Yes, mistakes were made and I too am glad no one else is hurt, but I am so sad for this family. Good people. Man with young kids and his mom just lost her mother last year unexpectedly. I saw the picture of his devastated wife asleep sitting in the chair next to him laying her head on the bed. I have been praying since I heard and although the outcome looks bleak, there are these awesome things called miracles. And thenkfully God doesn't use the same sin meter we do. God bless you all.
Heisenberg, I have also been praying for Heaven's family. The seven year old shot a few days ago in your crime riddled city of Chicago. I am sure she deserves it (the prayer), even though that city is full of out of control violence and idiots too. Shame on you.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aries

Keep a firm grip on your money today to avoid anyone else getting their mitts on it. If you're out in public you should keep your wallet or bag clamped to your side, just in case it goes walkabout. You should also make sure you check any bills and invoices that you're given, in case they contain a mistake. It's a day when errors and deceptions are highly likely.
