Oh I definately agree with you here. There needs to be guidelines, there is no question about it. I think one of the biggest problems is that Alamo has got a problem with their school system and apparently the city commissioners seem to be in trouble to. I do believe in drug testing but right now the way Alamo is being run, I think they need to work on the city and weed through the garbage that is supposely running the city. Children learn by example, thank God for so many great parents out there, because the so called adults running Alamo is a joke.
haven't seen you here in a while, then you post on a forum we disagree with,LOL, well some of it, I agree with starting with the adults in school board, and then decide where to go from their. Did you vote for a president candidate?

Yeah started the new job about 2 weeks so been busy. Yeah I know this drug testing is a tricky one, cause I all for it but I think there needs to be guidelines. We have it here and haven't heard of any problems, but this is a much bigger place. Yeah I think the city and the school board need a big overhaul and then go from there. You can't try to solve a problem if the old ones don't get fixed first.
Ok about the presidential cand., lol! I'm not sure about this one. To be truthful I am not totally convinced by either one. I will say one thing though, I'm glad it's not Hillary. Any woman who will stayed married to a jack*** has got to have problems, lol!

This just might be a good idea. Some of the athletes did other drugs beside weed! Maybe it could really be a way to help the student fight a bad addiction, if indeed that's what it is. In my opinion, i just don't see where drugs get you in life. Their minds aren't even developed enough to make the right decisions now and add drugs to the equation, you've got yourself an inmotivated and lazy student. Drugs takes over the mind.

One thing that does get under my skin is the student getting pulled out of class for this. This past school year there were so many interruptions during the day i felt we couldn't even stay in the class long enough for the teacher to get past half a lesson. Alamo's education problem should be number one on the top of the list. Take out all of the useless assembly's where every student trys to sneak out to their car and leave. Take out the random wednesday's that teachers had "in service day" and none of the teachers wanted to be there anyways! And also, think about doing the short cycle assessment testing a different way because that did no justice for anyone, even if you weren't testing!

Unfortunately, I doubt anyone will take this into thought because our board is KNOWN for ignoring the students opinions. Hey, that's another suggestion, let the students talk. IT'S THEIR EDUCATION, AND THEY DO CARE!

I agree that the students should have a liaison committee to the board and the board should pay attention to that committee.

You may need to bring this up at the school level first through the student council and draft an agenda submission for the school board .

I would think any opposition on the board would need to be documented and brought up around election time if you get my drift ?
