They got out because Laurence Johnson is stupid. Instead of waiting until the kids were gone on Christmas break, he decided to redo the gym floor yesterday. The kids are getting headaches and nausea from the strong smell of the sealant they put on it last night.

One parent said, it was something to do with what was done to the floors that was making people sick. Possibly, more will be said about exact situaion on the issue. Buildings are often now very closed and can cause problems when cleaners or chemicals are used and ventilation isn't good, that's why the are often called "sick buildings". In winter, the heaters are on which can make things even worse. The same goes when pesticides are sprayed and the buildings are shut closed. It's a fact that many chemicals can cause problems for many people.

Guess they didn't want to pay the overtime during the Xmas break. They probably needed to save money so they could pay the salaries of all the new assistants to the super. Don't know why they won't do these projects during summer break. What a waste of resources.

Who are you to tell people especially parents with children in that school that they shouldn't fear the fumes? Fumes from those types of chemicals can be toxic and dangerous. Obviosly, the fumes are a problem since school was let out and then out for another day. It will take longer than that to clear the effects from that application to the gym floor. It's up to those parents to find out what their children have been exposed to and to care for them if they have any signs of illness from any inhalation of such fumes. Another stupid decision in the Alamogordo area to seal the floors when they did.

You can't keep your child completely safe from everything. Do you realize that your furniture is full of toxic fumes, your carpet, your drapes? Better check your own casa before blasting APS. You are guilty of poisoning your child everyday.

Regardless, stupid decisions made my stupid people equal stupid results. Wonder what protection was issued to the employee that was using the toxic chemicals. What a world.

Are your children clothed right now? Better check what chemicals you assume are safe to swaddle around your offspring. You might just be a hypocrite.

Just received an automated phone call from the high school. There is a rumor that there will be a shooting at the high school on Friday, Dec 21, 2012. Ironically, this rumor is also being reported at other school across the nation. APS met with DPS and OCSD and they have found no validity to the rumors. There will be a strong police presence at the high school on Friday Dec. 21. and backpacks will not be allowed on campus.

From the APS facebook page:
Alamogordo High School Rumor
Late yesterday, the District received a vague rumor of the possibility of a school shooting occurring at Alamogordo High School on Friday December 21, 2012. Ironically, rumors are being reported of similar incidents also occurring on the same date nationwide.
The information received was relayed to the Alamogordo Department of Public Safety for investigation.
Today, District Officials met with the representatives from the Alamogordo Department of Public Safety and the Otero County Sheriffs. From this meeting we learned there appears to be no validity to the threat.
As a precautionary measure, there will be an increased Law Enforcement presence on our District campuses. Alamogordo High School students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to school on Friday, December 21st.

Because I am.

I continually step back, apart from what I see here, and seen anywhere else. This is how I am, and what I am, I am a bystander.

Thank you for clarifying such, you've hit the nail on the head.

I've felt this way ever since I can remember, being a bystander, a seperate entity. watching as some atrocity, or wrong-doing takes place.
