The Amateur Astronomers Group will be sponsoring a summer sky tour of major constellations like Hercules, Draco, and Leo that are connected by their mythology. A Crescent Moon, Mars and Saturn will also be prominent in the early evening sky. Come early and enjoy the beauty of Dog Canyon at sundown.

Last night was picture perfect and the kids were wonderfully enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It's great to see young people so interested in science and astronomy.

Even though the Leonid meteor shower will be peaking tonight/early tomorrow morning, we still should be able to spot some at the star party away from the light pollution.

Well, wouldn't you know that would be cloudy the day of our star party?! Tonight, the park ranger will still give his night sky talk, free hot beverages will still be provided, and we will still bring our telescopes out in case the weather decides to clear.
