Cleaning Up Obama’s Syria Mess
An ambitious plan to fight both Bashar al-Assad and ISIS is now our best hope.

OCT. 14, 2016

n September 10, in Geneva, Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced a cease-fire agreement in Syria—the second one this year. It was supposed to be a breakthrough for diplomacy, but within the hour of its implementation, the ceasefire began collapsing. The predictable failure of this “peace plan” offers yet more evidence of the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the Obama administration’s approach to this conflict, which has become the greatest strategic and humanitarian disaster of the 21st century.

Cleaning Up Obama’s Mess in the Middle East
President Trump has his work cut out for him if he’s to rebuild relations with America’s Arab allies.

Since taking office, President Trump has lost no time signaling his determination to adopt a far more robust approach to dealing with Iran than his predecessor. Rather than turning a blind eye to Iranian aggression, Mr. Trump warned Tehran that it is “playing with fire” after it test-fired two ballistic missiles earlier this month.

But if Mr. Trump wants to get tough on the ayatollahs, then he will need to invest time rebuilding relations with America’s traditional Arab allies, many of which feel ostracized by the treatment they received from President Obama.

Washington’s relations with pro-Western Arab states have been frayed since the previous president indicated his support for the so-called Arab Spring. They were appalled, for example, by Mr. Obama’s decision to support the 2011 overthrow of Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak, a longstanding U.S. ally.

Mr. Obama’s weak response to the Syrian conflict has been another source of tension, while America’s relations with the region have been further complicated by the emergence of Russia as a dominant force, particularly following the Kremlin’s decisive intervention in Syria on behalf of the Assad regime.

Mr. Trump has his work cut out for him if he is to get America’s dealings with pro-Western Arab powers back to their pre-Obama level.

The visit to the Saudi capital of Riyadh by Mike Pompeo, the CIA’s new director, was a step in the right direction. Mr. Pompeo presented Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, the country’s veteran security chief, with a CIA medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the war against Islamist-inspired terrorism.(Prince Mohammed narrowly escaped death in 2009 when an al Qaeda terrorist detonated a bomb in the royal’s Jeddah office.)

The award is significant because it not only bestows a coveted honor on a senior member of the Saudi royal family. It also acts as an endorsement of Saudi Arabia’s status as an important strategic American partner, an arrangement that could prove vital to maintaining stability in the Gulf region if the White House continues to ramp up pressure on Tehran.

But U.S.-Saudi relations have never been easy, and the Saudis remain concerned about the implications of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, which was passed by Congress in the dying days of the Obama administration. It allows the families of victims of the 9/11 attacks to sue Saudi government officials for their alleged complicity.

North Korea threat:'Trump is cleaning up Obama's mess!' Former President SAVAGED
DONALD TRUMP’S Press Secretary attacked the Obama administration for being “silent and complicit” with North Korea, claiming this is the reason why Trump has to deal with the rogue state’s nuclear threats now.

Sarah Sanders: North Korea situation a result of Obama's inaction

Sarah Sanders, Donald Trump’s Press Secretary, spoke in a press conference about Trump’s tweets against North Korea and blamed the Obama administration for its lack of leadership against the rogue state.

Ms Sanders said:“I think what didn’t help was the complacency and the silence of the previous administration.

“Trump is a President who leads through strength and he’s going to do that and he’s going to focus on everything that he can do in order to keep Americans safe.”

Donald Trump is cleaning up Obama's mess with North Korea, said Sarah Sanders
She added:“He’s not going to be pushed around by the leader of North Korea. Our policy with North Korea has not changed, we’re fully committed to continuing to apply maximum pressure and working with all of our partners in the region, including South Korea who we have a better relationship with now than ever before.

“We’re going to keep working with them and keep pushing forward and hopefully North Korea will start making better decisions.

”I think what's dangerous is to ignore continued threats.

If Obama had done anything and dealt with North Korea, we wouldn't have to clean up their mess now.

“If the previous administration had done anything and dealt with North Korea and dealt with Iran instead of standing by and doing nothing, we wouldn't have to clean up their mess now."

Ms Sanders fired back at a reporter questioning the mental fitness of the President of the United States in relation to his latest tweets against Kim Jong-un.

She said:“The people of this country should be concerned about the mental fitness of the leader of North Korea."

Gen. Mattis Cleaning Up Obama’s Mess… Starts by Putting Kim Jong Un in His Place
BY SHARI SAVAGE
FEBRUARY 4, 2017 AT 8:14AM

Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
In his first overseas visit, U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis both calmed the jitters of South Korea and Japan while putting North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un on notice: The U.S. will not put up with Kim’s madman rhetoric and destabilizing threats of nuclear deployment.

Speaking jointly with South Korean Defense Minister Han Min-koo in Seoul on Friday, Mattis made it clear that the U.S. will stand solidly with allies in the region against North Korean aggression and that no show of force from North Korea will be tolerated, according to Newsmax.

“America’s commitments to defending our allies and to upholding our extended deterrence guarantees remain ironclad: Any attack on the United States, or our allies, will be defeated, and any use of nuclear weapons would be met with a response that would be effective and overwhelming,” Mattis said.

Former President Barack Obama left quite a mess for Mattis to clean up. While Obama, seemingly incapable of attending to two things at once, was chasing a nuclear deal with Iran, North Korea’s Kim was ramping up his own nuclear program and ranting about attacking the U.S.

The region is a powder keg. North Korea has made a series of increasing successful ballistic missile and nuclear weapons tests, according to Politico, and the country now boasts that it can put a hydrogen bomb atop a long-range missile.

“North Korea is run by a lunatic who has been expanding his nuclear arsenal while President Obama has stood idly by. Our enemies around the world are taking advantage of Obama’s weakness,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said in January 2016, according to The Washington Post.

Obama’s policy failures extend to China, widely recognized as North Korea’s protector and largest trading partner.

Cleaning Up Obama’s Health-Care Mess
The unfulfilled promises of the Affordable Care Act will leave a tangle of crises for the next president.

TEVI TROY / OCT. 14, 2016

s President Barack Obama leaves office, he is bequeathing his successor a colossal mess in the form of his signature legislative achievement—both from the active effort to change the American health-care system through the Affordable Care Act and from the failure to address the budgetary crisis that will overwhelm the system over the next two decades unless radical changes are made. Indeed, the extent of the health-care problems facing the next president will be far greater than we have seen previously—and vastly more difficult to fix than was the case when Obama became president in 2009.
Obama failed to address the long-term crisis in funding Medicare even as he layered an expensive and severely flawed new benefit for all Americans on top of it. And as he fiddled, the overall national debt significantly incurred by increases in health-care spending grew without letup by about $11 trillion. That is more than the accumulated total debt that had accrued in the administration of every previous U.S. president in our history combined.

Republicans want to fix DACA far more than the Democrats do. The Dems had all three branches of government back in 2008-2011, and they decided not to do anything about DACA. They only want to use it as a campaign issue. Vote Republican!

The real reason the Dems want daca to remain is they covet a guaranteed huge future voting block. Some nimrod will no doubt say,“they can’t vote”. That may be true for now, however they are working to change that. They also can’t wait for their children to come of voting age. The Dems aren’t fooling anyone...so transparent.

Big mistake. My best guess is he was using that as a bargaining chip to get the wall.

It is a wash because Republicans want cheap exploitable labor and Democrats want possible future voters . The end result is that nothing will ever be done except a dog and pony show.

Putin Claims Russia Is Cleaning Up Obama’s Mess in Syria
REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque
By Rob Garver

September 28, 2015

In Vladimir Putin’s version of the Middle East, the current civil war and attendant humanitarian catastrophe in Syria is a mess of the United States’ making, and one that the Russian military – out of the Kremlin’s commitment to stability in the region – is being forced to clean up.

Appearing at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday not long after U.S. President Barack Obama, Putin described the crisis in Syria as the result of foreign governments fomenting revolts in various countries during the Arab Spring, and creating a vacuum into which ISIS was able to step.

Related: Obama’s UN Speech Masks an Off-Balance Foreign Policy

In Putin’s worldview, the shadowy power behind popular uprisings against tyrannical leaders – from Ukraine in Europe to Syria in the Middle East, and to Libya in North Africa, is always the United States. And though he didn’t specifically say it, it was clear that when he described what he sees as the result of these alleged U.S. policies, he was speaking directly to Obama.

“Instead of the triumph of democracy and progress, we got violence, poverty and social disaster — and nobody cares a bit about human rights, including the right to life.”

“Instead of the triumph of democracy and progress, we got violence, poverty and social disaster — and nobody cares a bit about human rights, including the right to life,” Putin said.“I cannot help asking those who have forced that situation: Do you realize what you have done?”

In his earlier remarks, Obama had said that the U.S. is willing to work with other countries to battle ISIS, including Russia and Iran, which signed a joint intelligence-sharing agreement with Russia over the weekend. However, he made it clear that allying with the regime of Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president whose troops have indiscriminately bombed civilians, was unacceptable.

Obama indicated that ending the Syrian crisis while keeping Assad in office is not acceptable to the U.S.

Why Trump has to clean up Obama's mess in Guatemala
Steve Hecht By Steve Hecht

President Obama’s foreign policy of appeasement won him a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for merely being elected. In the Middle East, it led to a frightful deal with Iran. In the Western Hemisphere it led to the embrace of anti-American dictators, such as the Castro regime in Cuba, cheered on by the United Nations.

Now President Trump is suffering the unfortunate harvest of what President Obama sowed.

A Message from Pottery Barn Kids

5 Steps to a More Organized Home
From taking it one room at a time to investing in quality storage, you can create and maintain a more organized home with these five easy steps.

Just as the Obama administration changed America’s longstanding Cuba policy, it embraced Castro-supported allies throughout Latin America, including in Guatemala. This has created chaos on Mexico’s southern border and allowed the likes of the violent MS-13 criminal gang to run riot, and opened the way for more illegal drugs to flow into the United States.

U.S. control of the skies and seas makes land the safest alternative to smuggle people and contraband from Central and South America into our country. Guatemala’s porous 595-mile border – the only southern land route to Mexico – has become an unlocked backdoor and a gateway to the U.S., thanks to organized crime and Mexican corruption.

President Obama’s embrace of Marxists in Guatemala has kept that backdoor wide open, and traffic is flowing, including the opioids that President Trump just declared are a public health emergency.
