Because the Kirby police department employs idiots who couldn't get hired anywhere else.

why would the officer pull out a gun when suspect did not have a weapon in the first place officer risked his own life and leaves a child not knowing who his father was that's what happening out in these streets why didn't officer shoot a tire or shot any where eles but gustavos chest when shot twice was two shots nessasary when fist shot took him out

why would a officer pull a weapon if a weapon was not involved and shoots him twice in the chest when first shot took him out from the point of view of family and friends he was murdered by an officer who risked his own life and leaves a child without knowing who his father was

sounds like you didn't get hired by Kirby PD! For this being their 1st fatal shooting it's not a "peaceful" city that speaks volumes for their police dept. Kudos!!!!!!

a motor vehicle is a 2000lb weapon and part of a police officers job is to risk their lives for the safety of others even if it is for a drunk. They only have a split second to react,not contemplate after they read about it in the paper like you.

ok if office knew suspect was drunk why didn't officer remove keys from ignition in the first place and so tell me how is that preventing a pursuit what about when suspect crashed in to the garage the officer made him crash after officer shot him twice what if that garage was a bedroom and would have killed somebody in there sleep What would the kirby police department say then officer felt his life was at risk what about the risk of others officer put the whole street were people live at "RISK" were suspect was shot at
