Full story: Vallejo Times-Herald

I am a very happy resident of Benicia, in the sense that I feel very fortunate to, as of today, be able to afford to live here.

Here in my neighborhood in Vallejo, Neighbor with Branches would have asked neighborhood (via neighborhood email list and word of mouth) if anyone needed firewood. Someone would have responded positively, three additional neighbors would show up to help cut up and load said branches. No million dollar homes, just million dollar people.

It is no more fair to claim that the actions of one person, or even the few people you have seen rake leaves into their gutters, vaildates a "longtime tradition". Considering how much we all pay to have our yard waste recycling cans, those habits just seem lazy. I do hope the guilty see your letter, and change their ways.

I like Benicia but, I do see what I feel is "arrogant behavior" fairly often.
Petty things like;
Drivers riding your bumper when you are obeying the speed limit.
Parents parking in the red, flipping illegal U-Turns in front of the school so they can score a closer parking place and pick up their precious little ones that apparently cannot walk two blocks.
Drivers that will sit in their car and wait for that ideal spot at safeway/raleys, blocking traffic while a shopper is still loading groceries into their car.(that one happens all over)
I'm fortunate to have excellent neighbors that are courteous and look out for me and mine.

Yup that is pretty much what is going on. The good ol boys know how to work the system. As long as you have workers that will do it, they will continue to think it is somebody elses problem. I think that most people however take care of their own stuff and don't have that attitude. But everytown has their "Special" people. These are the ones we love to see "for sale" signs out front of their homes!

Mr. Derrig, what if you were told that the resident paid to have the City remove and haul away those tree branches? Don't be a busy body.

So you think the city told him to drag them across the street instead of leaving them in front of his own property?...Ignorant...

Your funny. The city would not show up to remove those... unless it was in front of the Mayors house. Pay them?.....Now I am really laughing!!!!Don't you know that most of Benicia are busy bodies? That is why we have a low crime rate! The ones that are not busy bodies sre the one commiting the crimes!

Let me guess, you're an avid racist as well. I am in no way a busy body or a criminal, sometimes life takes place outside the windowless box that produces your ignorant thoughts, find a way to act accordingly.

Nope not a racist, I just care about my neighbors, my town and I keep my eyes open. I belive that makes me a busy...body. I guess I am so busy that I really do not understand your post. But that is ok, my ignorant mind is busy living in a happy little town. You are the one who sounds like they have a little chip on their shoulder and maybe nobody care about you... I'm sorry.

Don't be sorry for me, I get by with my waterfront view, in my own happy little town... the only thing on my shoulders are my wife's feet... wink wink. Wanna take notes for the next tupperware party?

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Gemini

Beware of taking on too much because it will be an effort to get through it all. You might even have to give up the unequal struggle, which won't do much for your ego or your reputation. Be especially careful about this if you're at work because a certain person may try to take advantage of what they see as your weakness or failure to deliver the goods.
