State Releases Energy Plan - KTVA

Aiming to tackle Alaska's energy crisis, the state's long awaited energy plan was released today with some initiatives to eventually gain energy independence.

We are having very difficulty with our cost of living too here in Gambell, where Gambell is located on St. Lawrence Island. The very most northwestern village in our great continent. Being the very last northwestern village in the country, we often get very little benefits that our government put out. Another words we get the last "ripple". Gambell is located about 186 air miles northwest of Nome. and our prices of food and petro is outweight by Freight and postages. For instance our gas is going for $7.05 a gal, and heating fuel is $7.65 a gal, loaf of bread is $5, doz.egg is over $3. By the way our price of petro won't change until the next barge delivery next summer in july, while rest of the country price of gas and heating fuel drops.
