Maybe the ABJ will track lenny and report which bridge he is under next. That way people won't have to drive all over akron looking for him next time to set his stuff on fire. Thanks again, ABJ, keep up the good work.

JOHN Q PUBLIC...Here I thought you were going to say people wouldn't have to drive all over Akron to help Lenny. Why am I not surprised?

...figures that "GRANDMA D" didn't pick up on the sarcasm. My guess is that "GRANDMA D" also fell hook, line, and sinker to the fear platform of the Bushinator. There should be an age limit of government officials, say 55.

Why doesnt the city commit resources to folks like Larry giving them a hand up instead of a hand out? Help them find a decent job for a decent wage and a decent place at a decent rate to live. Dont bash Lenny,'but for the Grace of God' there go any one of us.

Obviously, Lenny doesn't want the help. If he went to the homeless shelter, that's where he could start building a life. No, he wouldn't be able to drink or use drugs or come and go and he pleases, but he could start getting treatment for any health/mental health/mental retardation issues he has, figuring out what benefits he might be eligible for, get him hooked up with vocational rehabilitation, put him on the lists for subsidized housing...and from there, he could find a job, etc., etc. Yes, it is work, but if that's what Lenny wants, Lenny could have it.

Of course, I should add, that it is reprehensible that Lenny has been victimized, and that issue is without argument. Preying on a homeless man and his few meager items? Pathetic.

The Beacon Journal called attention to Lenny, so the punks attacked him. That's terrible. Nothing gives those thugs the right to do that. Those thugs need to find some other way to use their energy.

It isn't and shouldn't be the task of city gov to give people jobs and housing.

MAYBE the man just wants to be LEFT ALONE!!!! I know I have tried and all you nosey people just don't know how to leave things be. You think people got to be doing something! You just can't get it through your heads that sometimes there are people that are happy being just what they are instead of on that treadmill.

I admire the ABJ for the 'concern' for people. The last lady that was reported on was living out of her car in a parking lot. She is now living in an apartment through the Akron Metropolitan Housing which is usually has COVETED apartments for their own. I know, I've tried before to get housing and waited for two (2) years and gave up. I had to go homeless because 'their own came first'.
