It's about time someone sued Time Warner for the way they conduct business.

25 pages of court documents and the Akron Beacon Journal can't provide a single detail concerning the alleged "fraudulent acts and business practices".

Where do we sue, since the ABJ is certainly providing northeastern Ohio with "shoddy customer service" when it comes to actual news reporting?

I fired Time Warner NE Ohio last week for interupting service and not repairing it in a timely manner. Other gripes: customer service (non-service) that has been farmed out overseas, technicians that are limited in scope of ability (one guy connects service and another disconnects), an hour on hold trying to talk to a real live person who could speak English fluently enough to understand the basic problem.
Since TW bought out Adelphia every contact to customer service has resulted in utter chaos with interupted service, payment made to wrong account, long waits on hold, less than helpful information, and attitude of "We're the only game in town".
NE Ohio would be a great place to start a cable company with real live helpful people manning the phones that provides reliable service at a reasonable cost.

The 6 lawyers get millions if they win and the subscribers get $65.00 ,whats wrong with that picture. Surely the lawyers see it as fair and many if not most all lawyers are in politics.

Jes' another reason why I'm happy I dumped TWC long ago and switched to satelite.

Between satelite and ATT's service, I'm surprised any-buddy still uses TWC.

TWC has the highest cost and worst service. Switching to satelite or ATT is a good idea for anyone who wants to save money and get better service.

AT&T U-verse is the way to go! Best move I have ever made. Better service, superior customer service, and lower prices.

We're going through a customer dis-service issue with Time Warner right now.

On Thursday, my mother-in-law told me the cable guy had gone into her backyard, walked all over the top of her shed, left cable laying in the bushes, and then her cable wouldn't work.

Long story short, after waiting the customary 15-45 minutes that comes with each call, Time Warner:
- Lied to me about setting up an appointment for the next day between 10 and noon.
- Set up the actual appointment for a week away.
- Hung up on me when I started asking difficult questions.
- Refused to give me a supervisor on the phone.
- Put me onto a call board, asking me when I wanted a phonecall back--but still hasn't called.

We'll see if they keep the appointment they have set up for today.

No wonder everyone I know is leaving Time Warner.

AT&T's service looks better and cheaper anyway.

I have to admit, Time Warner has always left me feeling like I am paying way too much for a company and service that does not seem to care about their customers. After years of this, we finally switched to ATT U-Verse when a polite sales woman came to our door months ago. Needless to say, we switched immediately with all of the great promises of quality service and a lower cost. What a surprise it was to me that the new service was even worse than Time Warner! I had ATT U-verse for a month and a half, and in that time we must have called customer service at least 3 times a week for freezing and pixelating cable, non working internet and no show service calls.( Not to mention it takes 6 hours for the initial install and the internet is slower, not faster as promised!) Even the HD channels were not up to par considering it was a new "fiberoptic" cable technology.(They didn't even install new lines, they just used the ones already there from TWC). It seems that in today's society, that customer care is no longer a priority, only the dollar is. And to my disappointment, I had to cancel my ATT because it was making my life worse than TWC! Who would have thought! We switched back to TWC, the lesser of the two evils. Thankfully, we have had no problems since. Good luck in your search for real customer care and a service you can count on.

ITA that TW has horrible customer service. The local manager (Mark) wouldn't even call my husband back - six months of calls until we got an answer to our problems. I know a family member that lives nearby has had nothing but issues with her service as well.

I hope these individuals win their lawsuit.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Lawyers are the only ones getting rich off these type of lawsuits and this cost is only going to be passed on to the average already struggling consumer in the long run while the lawyer(s) are enjoying their mansions. The only other option is suing the company on one's own.

That is completely false, I work with TW and their customer service is right down town Akron, not to mention they employ a lot of our tri city counties

I've had 5 appointments to set up digital phone and no one has shown up. When I called to asked if they needed directions I was hung up on. I realize that they hire independent contractors, but I'm not sure I would hire someone who drives a truck with a "I love porn" bumper sticker. Of course I saw this truck while driving on the road b/c I've yet to see a TW truck in my driveway. Exactly what is their interviewing process?

Bummer about your experience with ATT. I switched fron TWC (because of their terrible customer service and because the cable was always going out and their high prices) to ATT U-Verse last year. I love ATT. Their cable and internet bundle is much cheaper than TWC. When I have a problem (which is rare) I call their customer service and get to talk to a real person in no longer than a 5 minute wait, often sooner. They have always been able to fix the problem over the phone, and in one case where my internet was down for a day, they credited my account without my even asking for it! I LOVE ATT U-Verse. Wouldn't go back to TWC even if it was free.

Are you that stupid? Or that lazy? Actually, you're most likely BOTH. How about checking out the court records with the Court that has jurisdiction over this and look for yourself? It's public record.

People like you on here constantly whining -- because you're to f''ing lazy and stupid to do things yourself -- just look more ignorant. It's not the ABJ's -- or any paper's job -- to do research for you if you want to know more. Idiot.

For those of you constantly complaining about Time-Warner or any cable service, as long as you continue to keep their service, you have no right to complain. Your ultimate complaint is canceling their service immediately.

And to the person who said they were on the phone SIX HOURS with them -- either you're a liar and/or you're THAT stupid to wait THAT long.
