After hearing Palin speak last night I may be moving twords McCain. It was refreshing to hear someone that has not been a lifelong politician. She seems to really want to make a change. It is also nice to see someone that does not have to start out with I am a Harvard or Yale or some other elite school graduate. She is just a normal person like me that graduated from a state college because that is what we could afford. We did not have the silver spoon of mom and dad, or the government to pay for it. I am starting my lean but it is a long time before the election, I guess anything can happen.

Funny, the article just can't let loose of taking pot shots at the new VP candidate

"The packed convention hall exploded in cheers as McCain stood with Palin and her family — including mother-to-be Bristol and the father, 18-year-old Levi Johnston."

"At 72, the Arizona senator is the oldest first-time nominee in history, collecting his party's top prize after pursuing it for the better part of a decade"

Well, I think by now we know her daughter is pregnant. Jeesh, lay off dorks. And is there anyone who doesn't know how old McCain is?

You take those two barbs out and the article wouldn't have been that bad.

What a night, though. A lot of people on the Democratic side sure chimed in on her energy.

Maybe she should take that energy and take care of family, her new baby and keeping track of her teenage daughter who is out acting like a slut. If you can't keep track of your family how are you going to take care of our country. Clearly her energy has been places it shouldn't have been. Maybe her daughter should have taken the classes on how not to get pregnant.

Palin is awesome! She was incredible last night and I think we saw a future President of the United States. She's already more qualified to be President than Hussein because of her experience as a Mayor and Governor. Hussein's experience as a community organizer is laughable when compared to this woman.

It will be interesting to see if the liberal news media continues to bash her because she is a woman or will they finally come around and treat her as an equal. The American people should really take a look at the Democratic party and how they treat women because it is really horrible. First they destroyed Hillary and now they are going after Palin.

The press hates her because they are in the tank for Obama. They know she is good and that is why they tried to destroy her and her family. It was great seeing all of them up there after the speech.

What's also interesting is the number of Democrats - former Clinton aides - that say Palin has been treated unfairly as a woman. When a bare knuckle machine like the Clintons notice it, you know it is bad.

She was refreshing. It was also hilarious to watch Newt tear apart the NBC reporter that asked about Palin's "inexperience" - Newt - "She's been a Mayor, Obama hasn't. She's been a Gov, Obama hasn't. Then he looked at the reporter - Can you tell me ONE ACCOMPLISHMENT that Obama has made? The reporter panicked and said - we have to leave it there. FUNNY.

Giuliani was also good - Executives can't just say "Present" when discussing Obama's penchant for voting "present" on tough issues.

She did a great job.

However, I wonder if Karl Rove's hands and lips are tired this morning from pulling the puppet strings and doing the ventriloquist act last night.

I don't know what some of you folks think you saw and heard, but honestly, I thought she sounded like she was running for Class President... of Seventh Grade in Middle School. Palin spent the first 20 minutes of her speech giving shout outs to her family and reminiscing about her PTA days. When she finally got to something of substance, in the last 10 minutes of her speech, she spent it making ridiculous comparisons to Obama, arrogantly claiming better leadership than him, in spite of her scandal-ridden and short tenure over a state barely larger in population than Summit County. And basically did all but McCain on the Jesus' cross in terms of overflowing adulation and worship of him. In addition to mentioning her obvious ties to Fossil Fuel industries, including Big Oil (hello, her hubby works for BP), her speech was full of snarkiness and snide comments that I thought made her sound very nasty and mean spirited.

As an attack dog for McCain's campaign, she gets a B+. But as the potential successor to McCain should the need arise? FAIL. She made Bush look like a Rhodes Scholar by comparison. If WWIII is what you want, McCain and Palin will certainly get us there, but it won't work out in the US' favor in the least.

Did we hear the same speech last night or did I watch another one? Sarah Palin's speech was three steps lower than horrible! She is not qualified at all...she needs to take care of her children and raise them up right...she didn't say anything about the country(She doesn't even know what a VP does), She can't keep her own home in order, and the only thing she did well was lie and read what was written for her. Lets not be stupid people! I think she would be a better comedian rather than the VP of the US. And even that would take some work because her jokes were not funny. I pray you folks don't fall for this trick.

She sure talks a good game. Too bad she doesn't follow it up with action. While she was running for govenor she supported the "bridge to nowhere" to the affected residents. Once elected she said "no" to the bridge but kept the earmarked money. She accepted $38,000,000 to build a ramp to the bridge and authorized its construction. She vetoed appropriations in the state budget for other towns as unnecessary but kept similar ones for her former city. She hired a someone to lobby for her city when she was mayor and got over $5,000 per resident in earmarked money from Congress.

It's obvious your upbringing was lacking since you are so naive to buy into the BO tripe. Children grow up fast these days whether you're in the home or not and they came out as a strong American family who supports each other and their country no matter what is thrown at them. Such sour grapes! Boo-f-in Hoo! You scum bag liberals are so afraid of a down to earth, self-made , true American woman with in your face reality you dont know what to think {oh that's right...you need BO to tell you what to think }. She's been making her way and living life as it comes to her rather than sitting in ivy-league colleges on the public dole or paid by wealthy white grandparents spewing socialism and hanging out with terrorists and anti-American preachers for 20 years.

I am not sure what you were watching. I went in with no preconceived ideas of what I would or would not here and it was a great speech. It was a great introduction of herself, it did a great job of showing the differences between her and Obama in terms of experience. It showed that she is a true outsider. It was a little over the top with the McCain stuff, but I guess it would be hard to ignore his service. People that work in the oil industry also have needs. They are raising families and paying taxes, trying to send kids to college. Fisherman also pay taxes and face the same challenges as those of you that live in the suburbs and work in some air conditioned office. To discount her because she is a women, or a mother, or because she comes from Alaska is ignorant. Many of you were on here crying that people will not vote for Obama because he is 1/2 black, you are the same people that are putting down Palin and will not vote for her because she is a women. You sexism and hypocrisy are showing.

Is Palin nuts or what????? She's way lost in the Christian Right.

"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God." "In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

How much of the speech do you think was written by Ms. Palin? She's a good reader. Period. The content and tone were set by a bunch of speech writers. We still don't know anything about her--except some of her family "ups and downs". Oh, yeah--and she's a hockey mom. Come on, people. QUESTION THINGS! Let's not be a nation of sheep, following whatever the talking heads tell us again THIS election!
