Do I hang on every word? No, but if I'm interested in a particular thread, I do read them.
When you post something like "typical Akron" in response to a news story like this, you are saying you have some knowledge of the subject matter. If you had some info to add, I would have liked to have heard it. As it turned out, you really had no idea what you were talking about - you were just running your mouth.
No need for me to start a thread about it, obviously you were posting nonsense just to call attention to yourself. So don't complain when you get it.
If you go on Ohio.com , you will see that typical word on every other post. So why is it you hound starry? That would be a good forum topic.

OFF TOPIC FOR A MOMENT....I have had three major surgies in less than two years. Major pain constitutes major drugs. I've been sent home with vicoden 750, codiene (stupid), demmeral and morphine. I was taking them like candy. None of them did diddly squat, except relax my brain enough to grab about 45 minute naps sessions. No pain relief and no buzz either.
Needless to say, I quit taking all of them - they were pointless. However, I recently got prescribed Ambien for a life long sleep disorder I've had since I was three. I want to play all night and sleep all day, only I don't sleep all day. Days, weeks go by - up all day, up all night. Now they find this hard to comprehend, but I have been doing this since I was THREE, that my father can remember. He said, if you didn't have school and I was home and you didn't have to watch the kids, you'd crash in bed and then re-boot and start the cycle all over again.
So after three trials - they give me ambian. WHOOOO EEEEE, now dis drug, dis drug makes me higher than a georgia pine tree. I was sitting here reading, decided I was thirsty. It was stand, step back. Turn, three steps to the right, stop - steady, focus. Six steps ahead, slow turn turn - no, not tilt, keep turning. Dang, this is the first time they kicked in so quick and the first time I was up when they did. BERRY BERRY INTERESTING
I had sleeping problems from the time I was a teenager until a few years ago. I fixed the problem myself. I know some people cannot do that and they need these new sleeping drugs. I am glad they worked for you. I remember having to take a few different ones and it was always the same. What did you do to pass the time when you couldn't sleep?

Please be berry, berry careful with that Ambien.
I took it for a while back around 2000. First time I took it I thought I was tripping. The effect was nearly immediate and very overpowering. When that crap hits your sleep switch, there's no fighting it... you're gonna go down. Out of the hundreds of doses of that I took, I can recall only twice that I was able (for no good reason) to avoid heading into zombie mode.
Seriously, take it as directed. It can be a dangerous chemical when used incorrectly.
Here's to an end to your chronic pain.
I have had a sleep disorder all of my adult life. A couple of years ago, I was prescribed Ambien. Since I had taken so many other things that really didn't work, I was sure Ambien would not work either. I would take it around 11:00 p.m. and think that it would take an hour or so to kick in. It would kick my ass in less than 10 minutes. I could fall asleep sitting up at my computer. I would read e mails and blogs I had posted the next morning and not even remember writing them. It scared me, and I stopped taking it. I agree, it can be very dangerous if not taken correctly. As long as you can devote time to sleep and not try to function in any way, it definitely does the trick. My problem was that I thought I was stronger than the drug and that I could control it. It controlled me, and that scared me.

OK, I'll bite. Please explain why the comment was atypical of Akron??

The fact that the police has never filed a suit against the county prosecutors office, has no bearin' on what's typical or atypical of the comment.

The colored saftey organizations in the Akron area, have a long history of filin' lawsuits against the city and county for a variety of alleged wrongs. Few, have ever gone to court.

Most people, unless they are just pining for attention, give a reason when they write that something is "typical," or anything else for that matter. Otherwise, the comment is meaningless.

Starry begs for attention with witless comments.

If you want to act like mindless morons start a topic that is titled "Worthless dribble" and post till your heart is content. Some of us actually would like to have a discussion regarding the topic without having to wade through your stupid comments to numerous to mention.

I disagree. The fact that a county prosecutor accused a city police detective of trying to undermine a murder trial in open court is not typical in any way, shape, or form.

This is not a case of an employee filing a lawsuit against their employer, which is what you are referring to when you mention "colored" government employees. In this case, the detective filing the complaint is being backed by the city PD (her employer), and the complaint is against the prosecutor's office. Unprecedented, I think.

I will tell you this - if you think that this complaint is typical for the city, at least you gave a reason why. Even though I disagree with you, at least I know where you are coming from.

Thanks Scooter. The broken bone that wouldn't heal, seems to finally be fusing. Therefore, the pain is subsiding. For the heavy drugs I was one, NOT ONE effected my balance, my mind or my speech. One little Ambien sent all of those off kilter.

I actually take them less than what is perscribed. I am to take one nightly. I only take one if I am still hyper at 10:00, which is typically once or twice a week, week nights. Never take them on the weekend, because I don't care if I have to be up by six am. Ya dig? LOL

I will be careful. Thanks for the warning. I am going to pay closer attention to the effects. I typically just take them and go straight to bed.

The first post said: "This is getting ugly." Did you demand an explanation from that poster as to what was meant? I posted "Typical Akron." It was a comment meant to show my agreement, that, this case will indeed get ugly, as most cases involving the police in Akron do get ugly. If the forum was about Baltimore or Cleveland or Pittsburgh, I would have made the same comment. Racial, sexual discrimination cases ALWAYS get ugly. Typical.

I think the nature of the complaint is typical of what we've seen in the past, from certain members of our safety forces, not who the complaint was against.

That's what I got from Starry's comment.

As for y'alls point, I agree, this particular kind of complaint has never been made against the prosecutors office.

They think it's a switch in my brain that was backward (not surprising). I get motivated and hyper at night, sleepy and lethargic during the day. My grandmother tried to fix it by keeping me awake all day, but that just made me fussy and I still didn't sleep the next night. Eventually, everyone just gave up and called me a vampire. Grade school, my dad would get up all hours, he was a truck driver, two, three, four a.m., he'd see my reading light on - open the door, tell me I had school in the morning, then be shocked that I actually went.

This carried over into adult hood. Days go by, one hour this night, two the next. By Saturday morning, sleeping only six hours for the entire week. Then CRASH and BURN. Reboot and start all over.

I've tried everything over the years. Meditation, melatonin, herbal teas, working out, staying up for days on end, books, soothing music, TV - nothing worked. Tossing and turning is how I passed most nights. Bought expensive mattresses too. But, this was my life and I just rolled with it. After my accident, the whole, non-sleeping issue caught up to me. I was suddenly facing what true exhaust symptoms felt like. What normal people feel like when they don't sleep. I couldn't hang. So asked the doc for Ambien, which does seem to doing the trick somewhat. I just didn't realize how they actually make you feel, if you are NOT sleeping. I have such an extreme tolerance for drugs, this little pill made me so loopy, it actually surprised me.

Ok, what is typical of this case is that it has been going on for some time. Her filing this law suit was to be expected. If you read any of the other crap about this case you would have known this. You just wanted to argue with Starry. There were several typicals referring to this crap because the Police and PO office don't really get along too well. They make things look good in public but behind close doors it is different. Did this answer your question?

If that was what you thought, then that is what you should have said. You didn't write "typical racial discrimination claim" you wrote "typical Akron." All Observer asked was why you thought it was typical of Akron. You shouldn't blame him for reacting to the words you wrote.
