Mark's mom said he wasn't on meds at time of death. Interesting that it was also said he was never diagnosed with anything. However, it was also previously stated that he became bipolar after surgery 10 years ago. But the hospital never treated him. Then he became Schizophrenic two months before his death. Again, not diagnosed, according to most of her posts. I don't know if we'll ever really know the truth...
But if he wasn't diagnosed, that explains why he
wasn't given meds.
I am in total agreement with you in regard to the truth may never come out. I remember reading in the ABJ where he was on some type of medication for a mental disorder prior to incarceration and he had been asking for his meds and he was basically being put off or ignored. One of his cell mates was included in this particular article and stated that he had asked for his meds several times. This story seems to match up with what I have experienced through my employment. I certainly do not have anything against law enforcement and do have respect for law enforcement, but I have also heard straight from the horse's mouth (not in this case) on how barbaric some matters have been dealt with to get an inmate/person in custody to comply. One tries not to be judgmental, but sometimes...

I completely understand where you are coming from. I just wish that for once we'd get a clear answer (as do you). If you review old posts on the other board about this matter, the answers change semi-frequently. I know to all the people on Mark's side, I seem to be on the Cops' side. That is simply inaccurate. I am on the side of the justice system that puts someone as innocent until proven guilty. I like to stick up for the underdog sometimes and show that there just might be another story. All I've been hearing lately is a crazy old man with conspiracy theories (Hunky77 and even a little from Tom Jackson), and a costantly changing story. Again, this is mostly on the other board, but I can see the venom being spewed a little here as well.

princess are you ever confussed. mark was diagnosed with bi polar in 2001. about a week and a half after his back surgery he started displaying the schizsophenia symtoms but wasnt diagnosed as actually being schizaphenia untill after his death. he had this come on just 2 months before his death.but since it wasnt diagnosed he was not taking medication for it. hope this clears things up for you. mom

More than likely this situation could have been avoided had Mark been given his medications at the jail like they are supposed to do. I know first hand that the jails and other faciliites that hold inmates in Akron are not efficient in this area. I work in this area and can fully assure you that these necessities are more often than not ignored.
To the COPSWIFE-What do you do for a living?
To LORI-Why do you ask?

I ask because it seems as though you are displaying a lot of knowledge about law enforcement and tasers, etc. You have very strong opinions, but seem to have a bit of an attitude about the possiblity of there being error on the part of the sheriff's dept. Just remember there are two sides to every story and one should not be excluded from there side if they have a difference of opinion or even if they are incarcerated. That is what this country is all about.

please try to under stand that taser didnt kill my son. it was the whole can of o.c. spray that caused him to suffocate to death. there was never any intention on sueing taser for anything. and the judge was able to determine that as well. so he was well with in his judical rights as the case played out to have taser ommitted from the autopsy report. but he didnt have the right to ommitt any thing else in the autopsy as no one was there to present evidence on any thing else. why because it wasnt about any thing else but taser. so he decided to become a doctor when he ruled every thing removed from the autopsy and to change it from murder to undetermined. including what as for a lack of better words the o.c. spray which was the straw that broke the camals back and killed him. in the bill of particulars theres a statement from a deputy that the one deputy told him he kicked mark so hard in his balls that his boots had gone into his ass. thats there explenation for the annal injury. i dont belive its possible to accomplish . but i could be wrong. lets try an experiment on thease deputies. let me kick them in thire balls with the same type of boots and lets see if it really is possible. any deputies want to volunteer?
Go get them, Mom! Maybe T.O.R. will, he was willing before to take someone to the mat.

You should have listened to the lawyerfrom the beginning.
kept your mouth shut!
You are part of the reason why things have happened the way that they have. You can't even keep your stories straight.
You were told NOT to talk about this case.
I hope these deputies, and others turn around and sue your butt for slander!
Your constant postings whining and crying whoaaaa is me. I have NO sympathy for you.
You turned these forums about Mark into nothing but a drama zone, and to gain attention.
Next you'll be asking for donations!
You are nothing and you know nothing. Slander, think not. 1.She has not said anything that has not been out there before in one form or another. 2.This forum is about opinions.(we have the right to free speech.) How about that mom, did you know you had such power? Like she’s the only one posting anything. There are over 8 -9 different forums on this. At least she is not hiding behind several different names.

Your a dispatcher. Please spare us your knowledge of the "law". I cannot believe you continue to work in law enforcement with the amount of blatant hate you have for the entire system. You really need to get out before you allow your emotions to effect your job. I really hope you are not on this forum while the people of Akron are paying your paycheck and dialing 911. I really hope your hatred of police doesn't cause you to "delay" calling for assistance for an officer when he needs it.
City worker please stay where you are at or maybe think about being a cop yourself. We all know how the city is in need of more good cops, seeing there is so few.

You do the job then. If you have all the answers, and you know the best way to respond to a high, mentally ill, 300 pounder who is naked, slinging feces, and is a danger to himself and others, you do it.
Some people really don't have a clue, and they're lucky they don't. If they had one, they couldn't handle it.
Of course not if they really knew all the inmates that are dragged to the back room for their beatings and all the other brutality that goes on, we all would find it hard to handle. Sadly, we do need more good people like Sally.

Thank You!!!! Finally someone who actually knows what they're talking about! Police have a harder job than what people think they do. They're the ones who have to deal with the scum on the streets. They're the ones who put themselves in danger so that those who hate them can sleep safe in their beds. So for all of you who hate cops- next time something bad happens to you don't call 911. It's that simple.
Isn’t that sad, you have to think twice before asking for help from the cops. Remember the woman who called for help and ended up in jail, stripped naked by a number of male cops and left in the cell for hours with nothing to keep her body covered or warm. Yes, it is sad, but stops and think before you call, if you call at all.

" Time Out " and whip my ass if it was needed,
I learned the difference between right and wrong the old fasioned way with plenty of ass whippins , these deputies are to be tried by the system that they are supposed to serve and to protect not to injure or to kill , our prosecuter needs a good lesson in honesty as well as what her job really is , Cindy George her biggest fan will tell you that
Ya you do what you learn don’t like something or someone beat the hell out of them. Is that what the deputies were taught?

Marks Mom, so what were the deputies to do? He needed stopped. If he was not stopped, then he could have hurt himself, and accidentally caused his own death. Would a lawsuit soon follow for that, too ?? I read 11 officers intervened. There was throwing of poo, blood, pepper spray, tasers, meds. This man was so out-of-control. the deputies tried the least harmful stuff first, and he kept fighting. Please do an honor to your son. Instead of spending all your energy fighting these deputies, spend your energy fighting for improving the mental health services for all. The energy you have could bring a change, and prevent such tragedies such as this.
Deputy Krendick said to both deputy Crolley and Pollinger,“I’m going to let him cook before we move him.” Crolley stated that he saw Krendick spray the pepper spray on McCullaugh’s buttocks, his back, and his head. Krendick empted the can when he sprayed it. Crolley said that he thought it was wrong what Krendick did. Crolley said that it is policy that once a person is handcuffed, that’s where it ends. Crolley said that both he and Pollinger agreed that it was unnecessary to spray McCullaugh with the pepper spray.
While McCullaugh was being handcuffed. Deputy Murray saw Krendick standing on the bunk stomping on Mark’s head five or six times. Murray said that the floor and walls of Marks cell were covered with pepper spray. Murray said that what Krendick did
(Stomping on his head) is not done by any extraction team he has been involved with as it is not effective.
A@@ they did their job, and then went too far.

to the rest of you please try and understand the way i feel. i have lost anouther son. one that i considered my best friend. we talked about everthing you could possibly thank of.we were vary close he was for all intensive purposes a mamas boy. all i ask is that you understand where i am comming from. i respect your oppinions i just ask that you respect mine. as i fill well justified in mine. and if this had not happend to my son i would proably be agreeing with you to an extent. i dont hate eny a.p.d. officers. there might be a couple that have had an attitude where none was warrented that i am not fond of. but there are 11 deputies, i dont like and two others. but there are 5 that i do hate and hope they rot behind bars. and that they get the same thing done to them. what goes around comes around kind of justice. expecially krendick. i do go around hating the sheriffs though since the 2 others and the other 6 deputies names havent been given to us. so if i pass one up i cant help but wonder if they were invoved. so i just hate them all. just remember if it could happen to our familyit can happen to enyones. in my widest dreams i could of never imagined eny thing like this happening to my son. or enyone else for that fact.

Stories do seem to have changed.

Summary of interview with Mark McCullaugh Sr.(father) and Jennifer Fox (mother) on Monday August 28, 2206:

Jennifer Fox, mother of Mark McCullaugh are Jr. stated that after his surgery, Mark came to live with her at 223 N. Arlington St, Akron, Ohio. She said he went fishing several times and always complained of being tired. On Father’s Day (June 18, 2006) his mother said her son’s ex-wife, came to her house and dropped off Mark’s children and asked if they could watch the kids for two weeks. Mrs. Fox agreed, but on the following Tuesday, June 20, 2006, she said that her son just cracked mentally. She said that her son would begin the yell all day about his religion and claimed that his mother was an infidel who needed to be slaughtered. She said he would stay awake all evening and never sleep. He claimed that he owned everything, and all his mother’s money was his. Mark took over $700 in cash from her bedroom, and handed it out on the street. She said his erratic behavior continued to intensify until on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, she went to work, but after arriving at work, saw police cars and an ambulance arriving at her home. She later learned that Mark had called the police himself and said that God told him to call and is not taking these medications. She was later called to her home by the Akron Police Department and asked to open the house. She was told that her son had threatened to shoot the officers, and was locked in the basement and bleeding heavily from a self-inflicted wound to the wrist. She said the officers used a taser several times on her son, and then took him to St. Thomas Hospital for a mental evaluation. St. Thomas Hospital kept her son for two days then called her to come to the hospital. The staff doctors told her that her son was stable enough to be released and there was nothing more they could do. She said that she told the doctors that her son was dangerous and she was afraid he would kill her. When the doctors told her that they could not keep him, she ran out of the hospital. Marks’s father eventually took him to live with his uncle Matthew McCullaugh.

While and his uncle’s house, Mark tore up numerous items of clothing, wrote various
Religious sayings on the wall, and, according to his uncle, almost destroyed his apartment. According to his uncle, one evening Mark ran down the hallway and pulled all the fire alarms. After several days, Marks’s uncle took him back to his father, and told him that he couldn’t stay with him anymore.

Mark McCullaugh Sr. stated that he took his son to the Haven of Rest, which is a shelter for the homeless in the Akron area. He said his son slept there, and would come to his apartment during the day to eat. He said his son told him that he was sleeping somewhere in the woods, because he didn’t like the shelter. His father said that eventually, he couldn’t take his son’s actions any longer, and put some of his belongings in a paper bag, and dropped him off at St. Thomas Hospital. He said he pulled up to the emergency room, and dropped him off. He said he didn’t know what else to do with him. He said he later heard that St. Thomas threw his son out, and he was later arrested for hitting an Akron police officer. He did not know the day, or date, he took his son to the hospital.

Mark McCullaugh Sr. said that his son always complained that he didn’t want to take any of the medication that was prescribed to him. He also said that he never heard if his son was actually diagnosed with a certain mental disorder, and he had no idea why his son began to act the way he did. He said he did not blame the deputies involved in the fight and know they had a tough job. He didn’t think the doctors were blame for letting his son leave the hospital and never properly treating him. He said his son did not belong in jail but in a mental institution where he could be properly evaluated.

key here is summery not the actuall accounts or statements it is wrong and has been tooken out of context that which was said. making the whole thing a shamits filled with inaccurracy and half truths.and things turned around so much that it makes what were some facts into nothing but lies. and even though i have tried and tried agin to tell every one involved with this case about it. they are all going to let it stand as is. because they know the majority of the population will by it as gosple comming from them. thats why i said a long time ago that they are going to try this case like this. instead of what was really happend and was said. but its the only justice we will be able to get since no one wants the truth tried here but me. so know one will change this bs document. to the truth. as far as there concerend this is the gospel truth NOT!
