pathetic. where the hell is common sense these days.
You mean the lack of common sense by the people who didn't pay the taxes? And ignored the certified mail? Or the scores of people blaming the government for trying to collect the taxes?

Oh, Someone is Angry. Maybe the Article was to let others know what the Government is doing in the Community. So that Voters can make an informed decision about the idiots that are running their city come election time. Boy Larry is an angry man too. Maybe he works for the Idiots that run the government. Maybe its not about the Money for the Clark Family. Maybe it is about abuse of power. And maybe some of you dont know how to read.

You my friend are a IDIOT. It is real simple, pay your taxes, go get certified mail, and when the police tell you to drop your gun, drop it. Live well and prosperous. Oh yeah the gas prices issue, don't vote for the democrats.

This is an example of what you get when pin-heads are given authority. They've taken advantage of their power without engaging any common sense. Hopefully the residents will remember some names (Judge & Mayor) at the voting booth. The Mayor is in office to represent the city and the residents. He took a cowardly approach and decided to ignore the citizens who probably helped put him in office. Communities have voiced their dissatisfaction with the unbridled spending by the schools by rejecting school levies. Now its time we voice our dissatisfaction with the elected pin heads that shrug their shoulders and/or demonstrate poor judgement. Cast your votes wisely.

I love it! You sheeple defending this stupidity don't even have to be lead to the slaughterhouse, you will run there on command! What a pitiful excuse for Americans you are, ready to defend the armed robbers know as government agents. But, I am sure you dial 911 when a thug WITHOUT a badge sticks a gun in your ribs and demands your wallet. Taxation is theft people. Robbery is wrong no matter who commits it. Ask yourselves why we got along just fine in this country without any taxes for over 100 years, until 1913. Wake up , they are stealing the country right out from under us and you are cheering them on.

Sad way to spend public money; arresting for $10.12. Times are hard and the city of Barberton wants to make it harder on WORKING PEOPLE. I'd be difficult (at first), to relocate, but nurses make better money out west.

"City of Brokent Dreams" is most appropo from someone posting from the likes of Cleveland! Tell you what, bunky! Officials of the likes of the City of Stow also got their knickers ripped a while back when their City Prosecutor abused the state's authority in collecting city income taxes! It ain't rocket science, now, is it? Let em pay to have the papers served cause that's what it's there for! No law says anyone has to pick up either certified or registered mail from the post office, eh?

Otherwise, why don't you just keep paying 7.75% sales tax and buy another carton of cigarettes and a case of beer to help make the likes of the Gunds, Jacobs, Dimora, et al rich...oh, yeah, and hope any deputy-dogs you might run across up there are better trained than those in Summit County, eh?

I really have to laugh when I see so many of these posts/comments coming from people who claim that they pay "their" taxes because they're accountable/responsible. Stop you're lying!! You pay taxes because you're convinced that you will be murdered if you insist on keeping and protecting your property. You pussies might try giving some credit, for doing the moral thing, to the people who try to not fund the "government" thugs.

I really don't feel sorry for her. Yes it was for a small amount that she "never got around to paying". But she owed it nonetheless. Where is the story here?

These idiots deserve what they got. They had multiple chances to pay the fine and they refused. It doesn't matter that it was $10 or $10,000. Just like it doesn't matter if you steal $10 or $10,000, you stole the money.

Accept responsibility for your STUPID actions and move on.

I think it's a sad world we live in when people can be arrested over $10.00 in back tax. What a dirty joke, and a waist of tax payers money. Why should I work if this is the way our county wants to handle our money that we pay out every year in tax's? Blowing our hard earned tax dollars on arresting inicent people instead of cleaning up the criminals off the streets. Shame on them. Shame, shame, shame !!!

Just wait until Obama gets in and we are stuck with both Democrats in the Sen. and Rep., we will all be having the police knock at our door because no working man will be able to afford the taxes and besides that we will become a communist country.

I have a suggestion for you...don't pay your taxes next year. How would that be fair to the rest of us... I agree that Barberton went over board on their collection practice but the Clarks' deliberately ignored paying their debt. It doesn't matter if it is $10 or $10,000, if it's owed you pay it, not make excuses...They got what they deserved...sjt

And now some other public administrative-policy-wonks, mere private enterprise wannabes, are threatening yet another upright citizen in Cuyahoga Falls becuase he had a sprig of poison ivy growing on his property.

Hm...I wonder if the disingenuouos Falls folk, that's includes you, Big Jo, didn't file criminal charges against our good citizen because they already knew they were past the legal time limit for such collections? Tellers of only half the truth being what they are, eh?

It'll be kind of hard to have Obama as president when he has to carry two states in the general election (Ohio and Pennsylvania) which he could not carry in the primary.

He's also not doing very well in Virginia and Colorado within the past several weeks due to all the stuff that's happening with the Russians coming into Georgia to take control of those oil pipelines. The combination of failing to carry those four states would be the ballgame for him. You can put his picture on the wall right next to Mondale and Dukakis and Gore and Kerry.

The city council and everyone involved in this should be horse whipped, heads shaved and thrown into the Erie canal. Any voters who would put up with this kind of action against their citizens by their elected officals need to rethink everything. Vote the bastards out, fire the bastards responsible for enforcing the policies, fire the judge who issued the warrant, fire the deputies who executed the warrant and reimburse these folks the $10 and the court costs and fees. This is bureaunazis run wild, they have nothing on the communists, who are no doubt their hero's.
