We're having a block party, will they re-route the bus stops between noon and 6:00? Unless they can block the street completely, I guess I'll just yell over the fence.

I just returned to Akron after 30 years. I left a neighborhood that sponsors block parties every year. You can have several small parties throughout the neighborhood. You only have to start off offering a beverage or snack. In time it can mushroom into what we had which was anyone interested brought a covered dish and pitched in for hotdogs. The thugs never show up. The last thing they want is for you to know them to well. This also shows them as a whole you have a neighborhood that has bonded. This is a neighborhood they will leave asap.

Well,if my neighbors even spoke to me would be nice, they act like I don`t exsist,in fact he informed me where my property line was and told me my house had termites so needless to say I will stay in my house although it would be nice but they could care less.

You sure sound like a nice neighbor I wish I lived by you.I am a widow and alone and continue to be.

i live in an area where sidewalks and front porches have obviously been zoned out. the kids are all too fat, nobody knows anyone and they all drive like the damned on vacation. they have no community spirit unless it's to go root for a sports team. a little bit of neighborliness would be fabulous and kudos to mayor don for suggesting it.

Let them know our habits so they can break intdo our homes. Let them introduce ours children to drugs.

Yep Mayor you made a great city with Summerville.

Lets have you lead the city more we can get rid of the good people in Akron by completly destroying the police department, schools and chase jobs away.

Lets set up Marco Gunnerville for the next Mayor and tee whold city can be gangsters and fools.
