You are stupid to... you have no idea why he was walking he could of been trying to get away from someone, out of gas, or anything. Hope your loved one never gets in a accident.

i heard from someone that sat in traffic yesterday that he was hitchhiking on the left side of the highway and a semi's draft pulled him in the road and he got hit, but regardless, its still pretty stupid to be walking on a road like 77

Consider the meth comment reported. It was totally out of line and inconsiderate as well as some of the other posts.
Maybe the poor guy was just tired or sick and trying to get home the shortest way possible - maybe something happend to his vehicle - maybe he wasn't walking in the middle but wanted to cross the highway? How do you know? Judge not lest you be judged. My condolences to the family.
I Love you Comment it makes so much since!!!

I have had a loved one die in a crash. Im not saying anything bad about him, I just think walking on the expressway is STUPID. If he was trying to get away from someone or out of gas or anything, use your phone.

Dear Life, I am not saying anything against the person who was killed as I know how it feels to be left wondering after a death that does not make any sense but I would like to remind you that it says, in the article, that he did have his phone on him. I am not saying that his phone worked because maybe it did not, but don't say something as idiotic as "Maybe he didn't have his phone" because it says right in the article he did. When discussing something as painful as a death at least listen to the few facts in the article.

I saw Nicks body on the side of the road around 7:30 am. It was not in the median, but near it. He could've been walking at a distance away from the highway and the truck could've swerved off the side of the road and hit him toward the median. Ever think of that? The cops were way on the right of the highway, away from the body, looking for evidence. The impact could've put him near the median. The body would not be in the spot where he was walking. Not at 70 mph. Regardless, I hope they find the driver. My condolences to Nick's family and friends.

Some people on here make me sick. seriously. Do you have nothing better to do then check these comments 24/7? Some people left over twelve comments on the situation. There is no need. Leave some respect for him and his family. Nick and I we're friends and we went to school together. My heart sank when i read this article. I will miss you Nick. R.I.P.

Agree 100%!!! I'll never understand why they do that. You, I (and others) have stated this NUMEROUS times. Any grief counselor would say the same thing.

Yes, we shouldn't speculate on drug or alcohol or state-of-mind issues because walking down the Interstate median in the middle of the night is both logical and safe for both the walker and the motorists headed his way. In fact, the coroner shouldn't even do a tox screen because that might offend his mother.
Or, perhaps, figuring out what he was doing there is pretty darned important for the rest of the investigation, and maybe speculation does not represent a personal attack on the victim or his family. You can bet that was the first thing the responding officers considered. There are a limited number of reasons this could happen, and the victim not being of sound mind or body are certainly legitimate possibilities.
Shouldn't do a tox screen because it might offend his mother? You've got to be kidding!!!! There has to be reason why he was walking on the X-press way that late at night.

Didn't know the guys who live there ver well...... He knew them well enough to drink beer at their party. Why is it that every time a young person is killed, they're always referred to as a "great guy", "my best friend" (even though I just met him 5 minutes ago), he left behind a pregnant girlfriend, has substance abuse problems, etc. It's like the "cookie cutter" young victim. In reality, everybody that goes on and on about what a great guy he is, didn't really give a dam about them in the first place.

Nick was a great kid and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. With that said, while it may be hurtful to read posts from people who speculate that he had a mental illness or was as drug addict, it shouldn’t bother the people who knew him. We know what kind of man he was. He wasn’t a drug addict; he wasn’t mentally unstable, he was a great friend, brother, and son. Hopefully this open discussion will keep him and this driver in the thoughts of the community and there will be no hiding from the consequences. We will miss you Nick.

It IS getting to be tiring. Logic, reasoning, good judgement, common sense, intelligence...been repeating the same words every time. It seems to be a futile effort...
