What I think is parents are just not doing their jobs. I make sure when my kids leave that I know the phone number of where they are going and the address. Too many parents depend only on reaching their child through a cell phone. This is inadequate for several reasons. Obviously the cell could go out. But the cell phone allows these kids to go wherever and do whatever without being accountable.

Also parents should not be shy about driving past the home where they say are. If the child leaves one place and travels to another, I want to know about it. All of this is for their safety and if they do not understand this, that is ok, they don't have to-- we are the parents, not them.

Clarence is a very spread out community and I think we need to be more hands on with our teenagers so we can help them grow up with a sense of responsiblity to themselves and their community.

I am also a parent from Clarence and I would have to disagree. At this age our children need some freedom. They are only a few years from being adults. If you take down phone numbers and drive past houses, that is taking away the little freedom that these teenagers have gained and you are basically saying that you do not trust them at all. If they are on such a tight leash, just wait until they go away to college and rebel.. I've seen it happen many times to my friends children.

These kids made a mistake. Didn't you make mistakes when you were their age? Did you not learn from those mistakes and become the person that you are today?

Let's not chastize these "criminals" because they were just kids being kids.. and I'm sure they have all learned a good lesson from it. A better lesson than if their mommy or daddy stepped into the situation and took over. Soon mommy and daddy will not be around and now they understand how their actions have consequences.

This is NOTHING new, underaged kids have been drinking FOREVER and it was worse when our parents were teenagers, and even worse, WHEN THE DRINKING AGE WAS 18!! There's nothing anyone can do about it...

Unless you were there, you dont know what happened at the "PARTY", including the news..the media blew it WAYYY out of proportion

seriously these parents need to occupy themselves with a hobby or something because its getting out of hand do you honestly think these tickets are going to stop anyone? what do you think is going to happen when they go to college much worse than a couple kids drinking beer and listening to music.Every parent in this hell hole of a town is in everyones business. sorry maryann that you are physcotic mother that has no trust or faith in your child to make good decisons....maybe if you raised them right in the first place you wouldnt have to stalk them when they are out. parents need to relax because even with the mass amount of drinking sex drugs and the forbidden freak dancing we are still one of the top schools in the area and the truth is nothing you do will stop us from poppin back a few cold ones and rubbin our meat up against an ass to some rap music. Concern yourself with real issues not something you cant stop..like spending money out of our budget to build a spirit rock..now thats something joey g and coseo can scratch their heads about

Bonjourno! Well I thought I'd share my two cents. I started drinking when I was just a little ol' Nitrogen molecule that went on to form an amino acid and eventually made me the man I am today. I now write a successful blog for lamp shade collectors, have caught all 151 pokemon on my gameboy, and I have make many romance explosion inside inferior women. Point being, drinking is great success!

I have never read so much immature comments in my life. If you want to be treated like adults then suffer the consequences. Like sitting up all night when your child that you love doesn't answer their cell phone. Some day you will all be parents and you think what' s available to you today {I mean the drugs}it's only getting worse. So drink up enjoy and remember in 20 years when your child is walking out that door how will you feel. The problem is you can't you can't even imagine. You kids today have more pressures on you then we did. So when your with your friends everything is done in excess. We love our children and when we hear of accidents that could of been avoided were scared to death. Can you even for one second feel why we ask. Were are you going? With who? When are you going to be home? Will parents be their? It's only because we want to see our child again. When I say Child it's because know matter how old you are,you will always be our child.

We partied our asses off in Clarence in the 70's...nothing we did not do. Those of you writing saying to clamp down on the kids are hypocrites...you were doing the same damn thing and you know it.....Almost all the people I went to CCCHS with are very successful.....and we all lived thru it, just do not get faced and drive.
