Desperately seeking haircutter Shirley
(met in mid '90s)

Hi all,
This is a longshot I know-- but with all the wonderful internet stories and reunions these days, you just never know?!

Around Xmas 1995 I went solo on a cruise out of Tampa, FL and met this wonderful woman Shirley (whose last name I forget now, something Polish maybe starting with a "W") and we totally hit it off on this 7-day cruise. She was there with her beautiful, blonde teenaged daughter who was getting ready to start college and the daughter's young boyfriend. I was suddenly single out of a very long-term relationship and sowing my wild oats.

She invited me up to Minnesota that Labor Day weekend 1996 for a visit and I took her up on it and she showed me such a nice time.(You would think I could remember her name, but I don't!) I see her face like it was yesterday. Short, blondish hair. Wisecracking, smoker. Great sense of humor. Loved to dance.

She was a haircutter in a salon in Edina, but lived in Burnsville. She had a vacation "get-a-way" trailer on some propery north of Brainerd, I think in the Cross Lake area. I remember going to a cool little bar where an Elvis impersonator played and having the time of my life that weekend.

Anyway, I might have a chance to go to Minneapolis again next month, and I've often thought about Shirley. What happened to her daughter? Did she ever retire from the salon?
