this poll is so stupid!!!! if you actually got to know the judge you would see that he is doing what's best for our community!! most things that come against him are very complicated! i would love to see someone else try to handle things as calm and collected as he does. he is a very intelligent man who deserves to be given a chance!! he has wonderful staff who support him and together they make a great team!! i never saw him do anything wrong. he always has reasons behind all choices....stop hating!!

I only hope that his personal finances are in better shape then the finances of the county. He is in charge of the county finances, he droped the ball (fumble) and time is running out.

If the county is up the creek without a paddle, and without money, how can the judge even consider a cost of living raise for county employees? Times are hard but get the county out of the red before considering pay raises. He has three employees including a temporary worker. He could run a tighter ship and try to save some money. Think about it, Judge.

Raul is basically like most of us... He will give you the shirt off his back until you cross him. I've known the man since 1972 and in my opinion he is alright. Raul has networked with countless officials state-wide and he can probably come up with solutions to local issues quicker than any previous county judge. Keep in mind that a new electee inherits what the lameduck left behind. Give Raul a chance, some things can not be corrected overnight.

He had a meeting this week and at that meeting is where pay raises were discussed. I don't know for who but this definately is not the time for a raise. Get the county out of the hole first!

Did they mention how much of a raise was proposed? The usual 3 or 5%.

nowayjose must be part of the old administration bunch. Like I said go to the courthouse and check out the mess your buddy joe b left behind. He allowed Kenedy county to steal our water rights by his lack of caring for this county. That is money that we could use for revenues to help out this county. He sat on his thieving, lying ass for the last year he was in office just lining his pockets with what money he could rip the county off. Where is all the money for road repairs he charged in the taxpayers name for twenty years on the certificates of obligation. Just take a quick 180 degree look around and see the condition our community is in. The courthouse sat for a year and he made no move to start work on it. Money again, out of our pockets. Money for him and his buddies every year just because. He must of thought he was Santa Claus with the southwest border money, which by the way is not grant money but a fund used by the feds to pay counties that prosecute fed drug cases. Pay attention nowayjose unless you are the real jose. Then you need to go to confession for all your misdeeds

I thought things were going to get better with a new judge,(who by the way I supported) but it seems the county went from the already bad enough frying pan, with the previous judge, into the flame. Like "El Viejon" said the judge is stuck with problems that were inherited so then try to fix the problems and make getting the county out of the red first priority instead of giving pay raises as "how" mentioned. By the way "still watching" you are very knowledgeable but know this the previous judge is not my buddy.

Raul Ramirez is doing what needs to be done....there will be no cost of living raises this year and if you attended every commissioner's court meeting you would know that the county budgets were passed with cuts throughout because the county is having to pay back money the previous administration swandered. the whole nation is in hard times what should make our county an exception. not only did Raul take on the financial problems the county already had from the previous administration but then the economy went south. I applaude Judge Ramirez for doing a great job at keeping the county afloat dispite all he mess he has had to clean up.

The Margaret Mead quoter is running for office. Raul Ramirez has been trying to get things back into running order since he took office. How can we let a slagger like David T back into any office when he proved that for 20+ years as county attorney he did nothing to improve this town. He did not even hear cases for the county that made them any money. Enough is Enough!

Wrong, the county Judge and the commissioners court are the ones that have the power to improve this county the county attorney has no say so. as for hearing cases again the Judge is one that set the cases for the county at last we hear the county never ran DWI cases all the way back to Homer Mora, Joe B. Garcia and now Raul Ramirez the word is that around 1000 DWI are pending remenber one of our own Commissioner had five DWI cases. PURA POLITICA
