Falfurrias man sentenced in Goliad case

A Falfurrias man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Monday for the September 2004 traffic death of a Goliad man.

well i was right about the other DWI .was twelve years to much or to little?how unfortunate that his long time friend from falfurrias went to go get in for him at his trial and he was not aware of his pending DWI that might have been something that you mention to such a good friend ,oh well that goes to lshow you a little something about a persons character.

I don't want to sound mean or anything of that nature, but it took the accident to happen in Goliad so that justice would prevail. If it would have happened in Jim Wells or Brooks County he would have probably gotten away with killing the poor guy. We need to get officials that want to do the job as they are elected for. I hope that the Jim Wells County Attorney gets voted out of her position, because she would have let the Intoxication Manslaughter go for a Public Intoxication like she has on alot of cases that have come to her court. All she cares about is getting paid to allow these drunks to get off on a Class C Misdemeanor for killing someone, you would think that someone is paying her under the table to do such a thing.

I have a scanner and lots of time he was caught here in falf. DWI. At times we don't recognize that their is alot of people who have a drinking or drug problem and instead of owning up to it we just cover it up. GOD BLESS DANIEL AND MAY FIND THE

Daniel's x wife was cheating on Daniel at the time. She was going out with David Haygood behind his back. Not just saying this because I am defending him just to let people out there know what he was going thru. His alcohol level was ONE point over the legal limit......09! roughly two beers.

Scrap doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground. His ex never cheated on him. A matter of fact she was legally separated from Daniel almost a year before she even started going out with David. Maybe if Daniel would have been a little less of an alcoholic, she would have probably stayed with him, but can you live with a man that is always yelling at you and the kids for no reason.

Even if the x was cheating, which you have no proof of, now there is a family that has a lose that will never heal, kids that will be grown by the time their Dad gets out of prison, two mothers hearts that are broken because one son is in the ground and the other is in jail, all because he was .09. Worth it? Ask one of these family members.

Starbucks you are so right. This was a large loss but more for the one who lost her son, he can never come back to hug her or to tell his parents he loves them, where as the other will at least get out in 12 years, and the kids can go to the prison and visit him. Where the other has to visit her son at the cemetery. My prayers go out to all victims of this tragedy and hope that all goes well for both sides.

like i said it is a terrible thing that someone died as a result..i also stated i was NOT trying to defend him.
If Daniel would have been a little less than an alcoholic??? Seriously? She KNEW when she married him that he loved to drink. If you marry an alcy you will have an alcy husband...only common sense. YES he did drink and get wasted, BUT he made sure that b*tch got everything. HE bought everything and worked his ass off. Yelling at the kids for no reason? He had those kids spoiled. His daughter Kerry once accused David of molesting her and he hauled ass home to beat him. Then Daniel was so upset with everything he took it to court. Hearing comes around and Kerry backs out--SHE LIED ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. Super sad. That child has issues and does not appreciate anything.
And like I said before I was NOT trying to defend Daniel in anyway..because yes it is terrible thing that the result was a death. And by far he was legally drunk and got his punishment. If you drink and drive you pay the consequences and that is what he is doing. May god bless the family of the victim.

Do you know what an alcoholic is. It's a person with a disease. As friends we need to talk to them and try to help them. We need to make them realize whats going on. Sometimes they dont know that they are. Once you take that drink you just can't quit. I had a family member that drank all the time. Try to talk sense to him and he knew but to ashame to admit it MAY HE REST IN PEACE. He got killed in a car accident.

If you're not defending Daniel, why are you calling his ex-wife a b*tch. She is not one, I know her, she is a very loving and caring person. Okay so he spoiled his children, but that is no reason to be screaming and yelling at your kids and putting them down. She did not think that just because he drinks that he would become an alcoholic. I drank for a long time and I quit on my own. I guess it goes to show you some can quit and others can't, but besides the point, his ex is not what you say she is.

my one and only time getting on... ya'll really need to get a life and stay out of others.. whether you all are children or adults, this is very childish. the judge knew wat he was doing.. and only the immidiate family that went through their life experiences know, so stop assuming and judging. there are divorces everyday so why so focused on this one?? yes everyone makes mistakes and obviously some don't learn,some do,some get away with it and some pay. god knows and he can only judge. just leave it alone and move on to another poor subject that yal make your life

Daniel has always had a drinking problem , since High school. He served our country in the Military ( Navy) it is not mentioned because he was dishonorably discharged for fighting while intoxicated.
