I feel sure the malicious comments above are the reason that not many attorneys want to try to help the citizens of South Texas. South Texas heirs seem to confuse the person who has been working with them for the last 3 or 4 years with someone who scammed them 8, 10, 12, or 20 years ago. I've only been representing most of my clients since 2006 and many are now in the oil and gas (final) stage. All of you so-called Christians - before you start casting stones, you need to get your facts straight. God forgive you. There is no magic bank in the sky that we can call, tell them who you are, and ask that they send a check. It just doesn't work that way. We have 3 stages in our recovery plan. Stage 1 is obtaining a judgment of heirship; Stage 2 is obtaining a complete title examination of your ancestor's grant, and step 3 is filing suit against the oil and gas operators drilling on the grant. Steps 1 & 2 must be completed before one has 'standing' to make a formal claim for any interest they have in suspense accounts being maintained by the oil and gas companies. I only charge my clients one-tenth the normal cost of heirship, and some of you accuse me of being money mad. I will let the barbs and acid comments roll off of me because they are based on uninformed, malicious gossip. I will continue to fight for my clients who really want to do what it takes to recover their interest. This is reality - not a fantasy, and I don't have control over how long it takes to get to the finish line. There are also judges, families, surveyors, etc., who have a say in how long it takes. We just keep working until we get there.

It's the money, amigo, the wealth.(the root of all evil) And the lawyers trying to cash in on people's dreams.

In response to Ms. Fowler's comment which I find offensive; What are you implying about the people of So. Tx.? Did detect a hint of prejudice? The comments posted regarding your work are based on your performance. My family has been faithful (8+ yrs. faithful) to you and they believe in you, yet, you won't meet with them to allow for questions, you put everything on the reps and spin all your comments to them. Your actions give the appearance that maybe you are stringing them along. Especially when you ask for more money to start another case, but have yet to close a prior case. Isn't it your duty as an attorney to keep your clients informed. All we want is the truth do we have standing regarding mineral rights? Have you ever won a case and recovered mineral rights on spanish land grants? I know when my family signed up with you, it was because you had recovered for other families. However, no legal document exists that you have recovered anything. Were they misled? If your objective is just to get declaration of heirships, great. You have done a fine job for some people. Be honest and let your clients know were your legal expertise lies, however, be honest. If you have never recovered monies say so and don't take it out on those who question you. You are an attorney and your clients have the right to question what is going on with their case, to ignore them or make comments like you posted is irresponsible and brings about the comments you claim are malicious. Who really is malicious. And please leave the Lord out of this because you too will be judged.

Amen, Aja. Religious Lawyer??? Isn't that an oxymoron? Ms. Fowler states, "This is reality - not a fantasy, and I don't have control over how long it takes to get to the finish line. There are also judges, families, surveyors, etc., who have a say in how long it takes. We just keep working until we get there." That could well be true. Especially if the 'families' she is referring to are the current owners who inherited the lands from their thieving ancestors. There is no finish line. We all know the old saying, "White men speak with forked-tongue."

I guess someone hit a nerve Ms. Fowler. I too am very upset with the work that you have done for my family. You keep giving them false hope that their money will be coming soon and then all of a sudden something comes up that delays the case longer. You are nothing but a gold digger. You claim to be a christian woman and you claim to be doing this because you want to help these poor families when all you are doing is lining your nest egg and robbing them blind. Your time will come and God will judge you for all the wrongdoing that you are doing to these people. And it is true that you do not like your clients to bother you with questions about their case when it is your right as an attorney to keep them informed about the status of their case. Don't think that because we are Hispanic we are ignorant and your time will come. It is evident that we all have the same concerns regarding Fowler. It is time to seek the truth, if we just exchange our grievances nothing happens. The process may be time consuming however it will be worth it, file a grievance with the texas bar association. Their website is www.texasbar.com click on the client assistance and grievance. It provides all the information needed to file a grievance. It must be in written form and if you have documents even better. According to the Tx. diciplinary rules of professional conduct, Eileen Fowler big violations are neglect and engaging in fraud, deceit or misrepresentation. She has violated rule 1.03 Communication and the length of time she has taken regarding cases looks like rule 3.02 minimizing the burdens and delays of litigation has been violated. According to the Tx. Bar she is required to maintain communications with clients especially when you call and inquire. She is to have provided you with copies of judgements or let you know how to obtain judgements, she is to provide you with case numbers and status of current litigation when, where, why, whom etc. I know with my family she has failed miserably and of her own choosing. She claims she is fighting for justice, but yet we aren't getting it from her. Perhaps she is a fraud or maybe she isn't...as clients we should find out. observer wrote: I guess someone hit a nerve Ms. Fowler. I too am very upset with the work that you have done for my family. People have some Respect for Ms. Fowler; your at home waiting for your Royalties counting the days and minutes while she is Working to get you The Royalties you never even worked for. This has gone on for over 65 years and you are complaining over 4 years. If you don't hear from Ms. Fowler ask your Representative and if that don't work then SHut Up, sit back and enjoy life. Our Grandparents to some Parents never got any of this and they were happy, humble people. Learn from them and be patient and deserving.

There is people who understand that these things take time. I am Sorry for what people are saying and doing..you have alot of our Prayer, Love, and Blessings don't listen to those who are judgemental. Unless you are certain people have been rude to Ms. Fowler your response is very hypocritical and contradictory. This forum is open for all to express their experiences with this lawyer, and a fact is that she has not been honest and open with events that have occurred regarding her cases. It is evident that no one has received any judgements in their favor, but are told the same thing - it's with the oil companies which we recently found out is a lie or waiting to go to court. I witnessed Fowler in court and she lost. Her adversary was well prepared, knew the law and did not whine. Any good attorney, knows not whine around with the judge, you move on because you are prepared. I felt so badly for the people who declaration of heirship was thrown out of court, they've been doing this for 8+ years. Worst of all (and you are in Austin) the legislature is in session right now working on a bill HB834 that would allow the courts to declare mineral rights abandoned - meaning heirs won't have claim to these rights - if it passes in will go into effect in Sept. 09. Your right our ancestors are rolling in their graves because what happenned to them is happenning again. Think about this, IF it is true that Fowler has 5000 clients at $200 a pop that equals to one million dollars. And to not have won a case, not a bad chunk of change. To seek the truth is to seek knowledge. Do your family a favor - open your eyes and get the facts, inform yourself. wopeneyes wrote: Ms. Fowler More Power to you..God Bless You and give you strength. Our Grandparents are not turning in their graves because they didnt make this their priority. My Grandfather was one who signed for them to dig for oil and he never heard a response from Texas, but you never heard my Grandfather complain that they didnt here anything. They were humble people back then they worried about what they had not what they didnt have. Their with God now and I don't think they are worried about Justice when it came to money. They just wanted to Love, Live and be Happy and they worked their but off for what they had. These Royalties are a Blessing if they happen. Yes you are right this is to express peoples experience with Ms. Fowler but it sounds more like a place to talk negative about one thing you saw. I have informed myself and my info is far from yours. The thing about Austin, what can I do there are Bills trying to be past all the time it don't mean they will pass they fight not to loose and so do you so every one is doing what they believe in that is Life ,,,To seek the truth is to seek knowledge, To leave things up to God is to have Faith..because the Truth can be what you want it to be..not what it really is.

wopeneyes, we don't have the same grandparents, because mine fought the social injustices they and their children experienced because of their ancestry. They worked hard, educated themselves and saw that their children were educated, loved passionately, and instilled these values in their heirs. Mine are spinning in their graves. It appears that you have not read all the responses at this site, I am not the only one that questions Fowler's motives and unless you have personally had her respond to your questions rudely, witnessed her courtroom demeanor or have had her office clerk tell you "it's with the oil companies," only to find out two months later from your rep that "no, that is not what she meant," (who is telling the truth?)you really do not have an understanding for the issue. As clients, we have the right to question and to be informed, all attorney's abide by this because it is part the state bar code, failing to do so could mean losing your license to practice law. Dealing with the judicial system is serious business, one cannot be complacent. I can understand if a rep has you standing up for Fowler, kudos to you. Respect the clients and the rule of law - because to believe people are just being negative is obtuse and simple. Respect the Lord and keep him out of it. The Lord blessed humans with a brain, a body and many talents to serve his purpose whether it be as a lawyer or a Wal-Mart greeter. Humans are the ones that make choices whether to be honest and trustworthy or scam others...the truth exists and it will set you free...

Aja, never mind wopeneyes. The only eye (s)he sees out of is located on his rear. He says, "Ms. Fowler More Power to you..." Maybe (s)he is waiting for Fowler to throw out a bone. His grandpappy was probably born in the 20th century (based on his naive scripture). He should have been informed about directional drilling. Bottom line is that gringos stole the land from the original grantees. Not the royalties that did not exist in that day and age. Gringos passed the tax laws, bought the lands on the courthouse steps for pennies an acre because the grantees were never informed about "the laws". After the gringos obtained titles to the lands, they murdered, burned, and ran off the grantees. Afterall, they had the law (namely the TX Rangers) on their side. wopeneyes says, "leave things up to God". Which God? The gringo God?
