Former clerk, accused of faking cancer, ordered to stand trial

By Derek Spellman dspellman@joplinglobe.com PINEVILLE, Mo. - A former clerk in the McDonald County prosecutor's office will stand trial on a felony charge of stealing after allegedly faking cancer and then taking donations for assistance, a judge ruled Wednesday.

The only way the state is going to be able to prove their case is to send this woman somewhere on the counties dime to make sure she doesn't have cancer.
