I have banked at both banks. I have a real big issue with colony bank. Talk about management problems.. Something needs to be done. The bank of soperton has a much better reputation. That is my opinion. What are other people's experiences. Just curious. I am going back to bank of soperton.

The president at colony bank lacks the ability to treat people with respect. People dont have to put their money in a bank that treats them in such a manner. Colony has a lot to overcome in this town. It is losing customers.
I know some people that have left colony in soperton and ventured to dublin or back to bank of soperton because of their attitude. They need a new staff.

For God's Sake ----- Get out of colony. I had so many bad things happen there, and we finally moved to a bank in dublin.

Dont know much about the bank of soperton but it is nicer.

I have a great respect for soperton bank. Been there for over over 20 years. I remember when it was across from the court house. It has changed somewhat but I can deal with it.

Colony bank has had a bad reputation for a long time. Mainly, I hear how they treat their account holders.. It is shady in that little trailer.

Why don't you go on Colony Bank Web site and check it out. The bank has over $1.2 billion in assets. Also it is listed on the NY Stock Exchange. They also have over 20 community banks serving the good customers in GA. I kind of like a small bank rather than a nice big bank with no money in it. That's why I go up there to bank. Plus you can go on-line and check your balance anytime anywhere. Also go to the state banking web site and see what banks are on the verge of failing. NOT COLONY BANK

Vidalia - I dont think people are talking about Colony bank in general. I have friends in Fitzgerald and in Savannah. Great Colony banks in savannah. Helpful service and good to the people. I think we are mainly talking soperton colony since this is the soperton topix... There are problems there.

However, I do agree with your point and your points are well taken. I love small banks too. Always have. But in my experience, just not the one in soperton. But everyone is different and I understand that. This is just my opinion. I certainly dont think everyone feels the same.

You are right about the failing banks. Bank of Soperton is right up there in major trouble.

I do not do my General Banking in Soperton. However to day I went to the Bank of Soperton and was treated with the utmost respect and PROFFESSIONALISM. I always have felt that you do not put all your eggs in one basket, therefore I have decided to Support one of our local Banks that being the Bank of Soperton with some of my Business.I am a firm beleiver that People traat you in the manner that they wish to be treated. I felt it was more Practical for me personally to have My Safe Deposit Box in Soperton not in another County, just in case I needed something very quickly. I expect to have a long standing relationship with Soperton Bank. They have treated me very nicely.

For the most part that is true. People do treat others nicely. But, then you run into a few bad eggs. Guess that is just life. Colony has too many bad eggs. Corporate needs to take a handle on it.

I expect to get rotten eggs thrown at me for this but I do believe Patricia Wilcher is straight down the line in her business dealings and so was Andy Thompson. I have dealt with them everr since Colony opened. Yes, things have happened but they will work with you and I don't believe anyone has actually lost money there. I also deal with the wonderful folks at The Bank of Soperton. They too are only interested in taking care of their customers. These banks are here for our convenience and a part of community growth.

Noone should throw eggs at you for speaking your truth. I think that is great if you have had nothing bad happen to you with in banking with colony. I just had the opposite situation happen with me, and have talked to a few others that were hurt by their ignorance. I wont go into on the forum, but it was serious enough and corporate got involved. AND - corporate was on our side. So, there are issues.

I do like the bank of soperton. I adored Mr. Kennon Gillis. I think he was the kindest man. A decent man and I banked with him and Charles for many years. Those were the good ole days. I still have some holdings there. Always will...

Everyone has opinions good and bad. But I know certain things need to change at colony. People have been hurt there for different reasons. I know that for fact. Inside theft hurts people among other things. I think patricia needs to be fired. She sets the pace. People are led by example.

I cannot go into the exact details on the forum, but many have had some really serious problems with the way accounts were handled. I wish I could go into detail on the forum. I just think people should think before they bank with Colony Bank of Soperton.

Well, the staff is led by example. I have seen the staff be on board with the president patricia's unethical attitude. There are banking laws that have been broken and corporate knows it. They cant do people the way they do and still in business for long. It is just wrong. Inside theft has happened twice that I know of and nothing is really done with upper management. Something is bad is in the woodpile over there!
