A Charleston area doctor has filed suit against the Aiken County Sheriff's Office for false arrest and malicious prosecution. Once again Sheriff Mike Hunt finds himself on the wrong end of a civil lawsuit likely to cost Aiken County property taxpayers thousands of dollars to defend.

Sheriff Mike Hunt is uneducated and incompetent. This is just one of many civil law suits that has been filed against him and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. What a sorry SOB!

This doctor had a 4.00 GPA in medical school, and sheriff Mike Hunt has a GED from LBC.

I have twenty five years of military service, I am a retired U.S.Army Commander, I have a degree in criminal justice and I have 35 years of law enforcement experience over four different areas.

I am running against the current sheriff. The problem is that he is well connected to the good ole boys. They deal in a lot of money and power.

Any man who is indicted for murder, they draw and seat a jury, goes before the court and the charges are dropped is well connected.

Go to www.jimvauseforsheriff.org and look at the sweeping changes that I propose. I am the best qualified for the job.

To the best of my knowledge , Hunt has racked up more law suits than ALL the other sheriffs in the history of Aiken County.

His dog program cost $500,000 per year. We have twelve dogs and 15 handlers . We have only six zones....so how about 6 dogs and 6 handlers, saving the taxpayer $250,000 per year.

Go to www.jimvauseforsheriff.org ......there's lots more there. I can save the county 1.8 million dollars every other year on just vehicles and $5,000 per year on fuel.

Given the opportunity , I can generate enough income to stay within my present budget for three more years. All this will cost the taxpayers.....NOTHING !!!!

Mike Hunt heads the only department in Aiken County that has experienced annual budget increases of $300,000 to $500,000 per year. He's out of control as we are giving him over $15,000,000 per year to run the sheriff's office and detention center. That's about 1/3 of the county's entire general fund. Mike Hunt is a part-time sheriff we are paying over $93,000 per year to while he's down in Clearwater playing fire fighter. What a big joke.

NEWS FLASH

Aiken Sheriff Mike Hunt Background Includes Indictment for Murder

Former Solicitor Barbara Morgan stated, "that Michael Hunt did in Aiken County...felonlously, wilfully and with malice aforethought, KILL one Thomas Joel Lewis a/k/a Thomas Poindexter by means of SHOOTING him with a Ruger 9mm pistol and that the said VICTIM died as a proximate result thereof." Further the Aiken Grand Jury, a group of 18 citizens of his peers, found probable cause to directly indict Aiken's current sheriff, Mike Hunt. Probable cause means that it's more probable than not that this criminal committed murder. Just because he was not prosecuted doesn't mean that he's innocent of murder, just that a jury has not yet found him guilty. There is no statute of limitations for murder in South Carolina.

Jim take a close look at his training budget and ask why it went from around $100,000 to over $500,000. Also, sure would like to know how much we have spent defending all those civil law suit filed againt Mike Hunt to include the Carolina Testing Facility,
Stephanie Kirkland, Jeff Nation, and Russ Ferrara cases which appear to still be pending against him in Circuit Court.

Yes, we should have an Olive Garden in Aiken, then we can read all of the stories in the Aiken Standard about how great it is and how awesome the economy will be stimulated by having another 50 jobs paying $2.19 per hour.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is overstaffed for the number of crimes committed in our county. We are paying somewhere between $5,000 to $7,500 per arrest warrant each day in Aiken County to fund the sheriff's office if you look at our daily cost to operate the sheriff's office compared to the number of arrest they make in the unincorporated areas of Aiken County (excluding the arrests made by city and town law enforcement - Aiken, North Augusta, Burnettetown, Salley, Wagener, Perry, New Ellenton, and Jackson). It shouldn't cost us over $10,0000,000 per year just to operate the Aiken County Sheriff's Office excluding the detention center. On average they are making less than five (5) arrest per day in Aiken County and most of them are not prosecuted by the solicitor's office because they are make on a knee jerk without the required evidence or all elements of the crime being present. They act like a bunch of cowboys being managed by redneck low-life criminal murderer Mike Hunt.

Mike Hunt is a valley Democrat who has supported every proposed tax increase since taking office to include increases in our property taxes and the local sales option tax. He's nothing more than a tax and spend valley rat Democrat.
